With all due respect, Madam Speaker, but we need to pursue impeachment NOW!

How many more acts of hate, both foreign and domestic, will have to be directly inspired by that egregious individual in the WH before we act?

And please, I don't want to hear about the futility of pursuing impeachment. After what happened today in NZ we have a moral responsibility to rid the nation and the world of this administration via impeachment. We need to show the world and history that we tried to do something, that we just didn't sit idly by while a veritable fountain of hate and xenophobia was permitted to spew its filth into our garden.

1. +1000

It's not acceptable for the President of the United States to threaten violence against his political enemies. Full stop.

And if he had done nothing else in the entire course of his life, that by itself should be enough to warrant impeachment.

It's not good enough to look the other way because it's not politically expedient to do something about it.

2. She's not looking the other way... she's playing the long game

This has been beaten to death! We all want the idiot gone, but there’s this little thing called the senate, currently republican held. Going ahead may very well damage the Dems in 2020... our one real chance at kicking the creep out!

4. Bullshit. I want some accountability for a change.

And don't put words in my mouth. That could just as easily work the other way, dig? It could be easily argued that anyone who doesn't want to see him impeached or held accountable in any way wants his presidency to continue unhindered. See how that works?

Thank you.

7. What's the plan to get the Senate Republicans onboard

so impeaching Trump will have the necessary votes? Without that, all this teeth gnashing and foot stomping is useless hyperbole.

9. OK, what would you consider "accountability" that is, other than picking a losing fight

that would, lacking "hard evidence and bi-partisan support" actually be an exercise in futile political partisan theatre, along the lines of the Benghazi "investigation" and voting for Repeal and Replace dozens of times under Obama when there wasn't a veto proof majority.

See how that works?

Democratic leaders don't need to pull those kind of stunts, and I truly hope that we are better than the RW who demands red meat thrown to them on a regular basis. Dig?

Also - are you blaming Speaker Pelosi for this terrorism?

10. Are you saying that Speaker Pelosi is "sitting idly by while a veritable fountain of hate

and xenophobia was permitted to spew its filth into our garden?"

The electoral college put him there, and the constitution makes it very hard to remove a sitting POTUS, and that permits him to continue, not Speaker Pelosi.

If you have a way to prevent him from going on twitter and on television, by all means, share it with us. But I think that Madame Speaker would have done it if it was possible, despite what you seem to think.

What effect would a futile impeachment hearing do other than take time away from actual investigations that would give us actual evidence to impeach him with or threaten him? Please share that with us.

Did you forget that we have barely started this session after a 31 day shutdown? It took two YEARS to investigate Nixon.

You're mad. I dig. But you're aiming your rage at the wrong person. Don't confuse general frustration with the world, and disliking someone with them not doing their job.

11. With all due respect, no we don't.

Impeachment and conviction must be demanded by a majority of voters. It must also be demanded by the adequate majority of the Republican enablers in the Senate. Anything less will win Trump another term thereby destroying our country for the foreseeable future and, possibly, the world as we know it.

He is not worth it!

12. disagree - we need much firmer ground for such an action

otherwise it will backfire, and Democrats cannot afford to botch this action.

i'm going to give Speaker Pelosi the benefit of the doubt for now.

13. nope. mueller first. it will come this year.

Mueller's team want to play it fair for the 2020 campaign. he'll report far in advance of the race heating up.

then impeach. then the trial, then the acquittal by craven GOP senators. then the 2020 campaign.

14. They are pursuing it...

Not until the math(flipping republican senators) is there can they pull the trigger

But the evidence is being collected

We only get one chance at this and it cannot fail

It would only empower Trump
