How Rick Santorum Is Making His “Google Problem” Worse

Pretty F'ing hilarious! Be sure to click on the link for the explanation.

US Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum made a surprise leap ahead to practically tie Mitt Romney in yesterday’s Iowa caucus results. Now people are searching to find out more about him and discovering THAT result which makes comedy show hosts like Jon Stewart giggle. But rather than blame Google (or Bing), as Santorum has in the past, much of the fault remains with his own campaign.

Which made me wonder why the M$M was so fixated on using the term "Santorum Surges" and its many variants all day yesterday. I don't know that I could've chosen a better term than "surge" for what happened, but still...

Seriously. Every time we imply that Rick Santorum's last name can be used as a euphemism for foamy, shit-laden anal lube, we debase ourselves. Reminding people that, on the internet, Santorum can mean lube combined with feces may be amusing and smirk-worthy, but really, the "Santorum means shit-filled ass lube" meme has been repeated for years, and the idea that Santorum's name is slang for frothy feces and lube hasn't stopped values-conscious GOP primary voters from taking another look at the guy.

So please. Stop saying that "Santorum means frothy feces-filled lubricant", especially on the internet, where those hurtful words can be picked up and further spread by search engines.

And like everyone else here, yes, I think it's funny.

But practically, what effect do you think it will have on the GOPuke voter base? They've only got a few choices:

1) They can turn away from him because of it, shunning someone who let himself be punked by a gay activist.

2) They can pretend they're oblivious to it, and ignore it, never speaking of it with each other.

3) They can rally around him, it's "proof" that he's been "right" for a long time, and that only shameful libertines would stoop to something so completely crass and filthy.

My bet is on choices 2, and especially 3.

Googling 'Santorum' Leads to Nationwide Ewwwws

Americans who take to the Internet to learn more about Rick Santorum following his strong finish in the Iowa caucuses are about to discover his Google problem.

It comes courtesy of sex advice columnist and soon-to-be MTV star Dan Savage, who in 2003, in response to comments Santorum made about gays, asked his readers to help come up with a disgusting sexual reference to be named after the then-Pennsylvania senator.

What they came up with was this, which is now the top Google response for Santorum, and is posted at the website spreadingsantorum.com:

"Santorum 1. The frothy mix of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the byproduct of anal sex. 2. Senator Rick Santorum."
