But then again, it could be a cover . . . lies.

(7,947 posts)How would this DOJ official know? Unless it's Rosenstein, Barr, or Mueller-- how would they know?
Rosenstein's been pretty discreet, Mueller's like a rock. Barr might have said it, of course, but that doesn't, alas, mean it's true, since when this was supposedly said, he hadn't read the report.
I'd suspect Matt Whitaker, but I think he was summarily ousted by Barr a couple weeks ago.

(90,335 posts)... look like.
I'd like to know where the original report comes from etc.
Why would a flat "no further indictments" be the headline when there could be going forward and looked like a red herring in regards to what the DOJ policy is.

(32,626 posts)Robert Mueller himself will issue no new indictments. Nothing has been said about other prosecutors either way. My guess is that there will be new indictments because the investigations aren't finished.
Any new indictments will be issued by the US attorneys offices in New York, Washington DC and elsewhere. Mueller intends to finish up the cases he started, but he's also collaborating with other US attorneys offices. He always intended to hand off these long-term complicated cases that will take years to litigate, because he is very close to retirement.
The investigations are still going on, but eventually Mueller will slowly extricate himself as his cases wind down.

(90,335 posts)... seen the M$M's bent towards group think work.
This statement is driving the news cycle and it could've been a stoke that the DOJ of course wouldn't address at this point.
thx in advance

It's a long message/post with about 50 additional windows. (Click on the first tweet and you'll be taken to Abramson's twitter feed.) The many entries are numbered in sequential order.
Long read but worth the time.
Edited to add: I believe it's stated in Mueller's letter to Bill Barr (Friday) that he's issuing no new indictments. That's where Abramson got his information.
