I would expect him to have been tweeting a storm. Instead all we got was one bare bones NO COLLUSION tweet.
Something is going on behind the scenes.

(54,330 posts)With his changing directions more often than the wind, he might decide "my work is done here, I made America great again," and come out with his line that he accomplished ten times as much in four years as Obama did in eight.
Somewhere in the bowels of the White House, there is certainly a small group of strategists who remember that Fox "News" is a propaganda arm of the Republican Party, and not of the Trump White House. The moment the Murdoch family decides that Trump is imperiling their Senate majority, Fox will find so much wrongdoing by Trump and Co. that the Mueller Report will seem like a fourth grade book report by comparison. And don't forget that Fox is under no restraints such as discretion or an obligation to be truthful.

(57,063 posts)egoist enough not to want to lose, and mendacious enough to claim he was such a great POTUS that he did two terms of work in less than four years.
I think Lindsey Graham is soulless enough to sell out completely for VP.

(40,200 posts)Theyre putting out PR bullshit, but there is already problems with this letter Barr put out. Mueller is already putting out comments that undermine Barr. This is going to get very complicated.

They will allow Trump to look like he was ignorantly duped, but the report was clear Russia played a significant role in influencing the last election. The GOP up for election need to at least appear concerned.

(53,410 posts)He cant read and his dozen or so lawyers are probably still reading, digesting, analyzing and figuring out a strategy for how to spin the report. Some things still take time.

It is going to be a fight to see the entire report.
SDNY and DC are looking into his financial dealings.

(9,213 posts)Tweet?? That was completely out of character especially if this was the conclusion.
Something going on here. I'm guessing the full report is horrible for Trump and his lawyers are trying to figure out how to keep it hidden from Congress citing Executive privilege. The only way this goes poorly for Trump os of Congress and the American public see the full report.

(713 posts)Maybe as some think he is still concerned about SDNY? I do think it is possible that the best way to hit Trump is to investigate his finances. He has always been a shady businessman. He just has never been under this kind of scrutiny.
They got Capone on Tax Evasion and Financial Crimes. Maybe Trump will be caught the same way. If that happens, I suspect that it will occur after Trump is out of office. So, I think the plan is to beat the Repubs in the 2020 election, and then feed Trump to the sharks in New York. He will retire into ignominy and maybe prison, hopefully along with some of his cohorts.
It might be wishful thinking though. I think the focus on investigating Trump through the Congress (Nadler and others) is the way to go to keep pressure on Trump and his people up through the election in 2020. Then we will knock him out politically and elect a good Democratic President. I look forward to Trump being defeated and whining that the election was rigged. Once out of office, the issue about whether you can indict a sitting President will be moot. He might go to prison the same way Martha Stewart did, only on more serious white collar crimes.

(34,857 posts)The press is doing it for him and he's probably been told gloating will only hurt him in this instance as it'll appear as if he's over celebrating.
Trump rarely listens to his handlers but on this they probably have explained why it's important to let the narrative be the report and not his stupid tweets. The report is all the gloating he needs. It's the top story on the news. Everyone who watches the news will hear it perfectly: Mueller finds no evidence Trump colluded with Russia.
The gloating will always be there but right now he's letting things pass.

(13,524 posts)Just prior to a court-imposed deadline Tuesday, two anonymous individuals surfaced to object to the unsealing of a key lower-court ruling in the case, as well as various submissions by the parties.

They were going to be unsealed last Tuesday, but two lawyers repping anonymous people (one possibly one of the victims) filed to halt unsealing.
But maybe theyll work it all out and documents will be opened for all to see and maybe some names will be in there that dumbfuck45 personally knows. Namely, himself.

(464 posts)and then all those little kids going missing at the US/Mexican border has all looked like one big trafficking ring to me. Throw in the Russians and the Ukranians, and you can just see the whole mob selling kids around the world, and laundering money to hide it. I think the tRump crowd is into selling (and buying or stealing) kids for sex

(25,183 posts)or at least as much of it as can legally be released to reach a crescendo, then it will come out, confirming the gist of the summary. Then, he'll gloat his ass off.
Look, his advisers got him to stop tweeting for nearly a whole weekend. They've convinced him that letting Mueller blow up in our faces after we demand it will be much more effective at deflating our anger and throwing us into despair.
A few weeks ago, I compared waiting for the Mueller report to sitting in a pumpkin patch waiting for "The Great Pumpkin" to appear. It seems that I might have been right.
All focus should be on choosing the best candidate to beat Trump next year, and doing it in such a way that will allow us to strongly unite in November. No more Jill Steins or Gary Johnsons!

(14,565 posts)Trump has superior instincts than I preferred to believe in 2016. A knucklehead would have jumped all over this and spent most of the gain in 50 rapid fire tweets.
Instead he'll probably have rallies that he knows will be extensively covered, and where he'll ramp up the mocking and unveil new phrases

(1,980 posts)That once Mueller was "done", then all the other jurisdictions would drop their indictments since they would no longer interfere with his investigation. They kept saying Friday and the weekend "no more indictments FROM MUELLER".
There is clearly something else bothering Trump. The comments up the thread about the Epstein stuff may be what it is.
