Watergate v whatever the hell "this" was/is

Watergate was wall-to-wall TELEVISED.

I was in my 20's then and at the time thought "what a bore", but because of the wonder of tape, we STILL have all of it to re-view and compare things to. Because it was televised, we ALL had the opportunity to watch the people squirm, and could evaluate their testimony ourselves.

What we had this time was in secret 99.999% of it, so all we "have" is other people's interpretations/pontifications/musings.

I know this is not over, BUT for most people who do not follow this stuff like WE do, it IS over.

All the future legal gymnastics that are yet to come, will likely be seen as "piling on" and not amounting to much.

The sad fact is that he got away with it again,

There are real candidates who are trying to position themselves to remove this nut, and hopefully someone will find the secret sauce that will beat him.

Facts:

Until ToxicTrump, the CIA/FBI/NSA/Justice Dept were considered neutral/apolitical/non-partisan (for the most part). This was because the appointed ones were long-timers who were appointed by MANY presidents of both parties, and the rank-and-file were competent people who did not "choose sides".

ANY candidate seen cavorting with Russians would have been suspect.

The reporting of the initial investigation was SHOT DOWN by Mitch McConnell.

Obama & co were probably okay with this, since Hillary was most likely to win, and would sort it all out later.

The dossier's existence was brought to the attention of Trump because IT HAD TO BE REPORTED. The fact that HE took it as a threat was only because he knew he was guilty as sin. He has the "extreme revenge gene", so he declared war on anyone who could possibly "hurt" him by exposing him.

The man has no shame and will say anything and do whatever is necessary to keep the money coming in for his family.

The people who investigated/evaluated are mostly REPUBLICANS.
