WTF (re: Slate & Rachel Maddow)

"The Howard Bealeization, or Glenn Beckifaction of Rachel Maddow is a reminder that partisan paranoia has bipartisan appeal. Maddow is right to question the summarizing of a 300ish-page report into four measly pages, to insist on transparency, to challenge the motives of the Trump-friendly AG—and she’s not alone in doing so. But for Maddow, every piece of information remains a clue that might take down the Trump empire. There is no adjustment for how the report has been widely received, no skepticism about what the report might actually contain, just cockamamie connections, the feverish belief that every single thing we don’t know is the all-important fact, that the smoking gun of collusion is out there, and that, yes, Robert Mueller is still going to swoop in and save us."

4. All TEE-VEE people (and print columnists as well) are paid to do only one thing

And that's to provide a time period of material (or so many column inches) around which they can sell advertising. That's it. In Maddow's case, that's the reason some people complain about how she goes on and on about some point she's making, often repeating the same thing. When you're low on peanut butter, you spread it thin to make more sandwiches.

Just responding to the previous post trying to draw a distinction between Slate and the author. Slate is responsible for the content published on their site, so if they publish trash, I'm going to blame them too for doing it.

Ignore that author and people like Taibbi and Greenwald who used the Barr letter propaganda to attack Maddow.
