Trump keeps claiming his father was born in Germany. It was the Bronx.
David Knowles Editor,Yahoo NewsApril 2, 2019
Speaking to reporters in the White House Tuesday, President Trump misstated his fathers place of birth as Germany, rather than New York City.
My father is German, right? Was German. And born in a very wonderful place in Germany, so I have a great feeling for Germany, Trump said during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who is from Norway.
Trumps father, Frederick Christ Trump, was born in the Bronx on Oct. 11, 1905.
Tuesdays misstatement was not the first time that the president has incorrectly identified his fathers birthplace. In a 2018 interview with Fox News Sunday, Trump did the same.

He got married and returned to the US. Later they returned to Germany because the wife was supposedly very homesick but Frederick was expelled due to having emigrated as a young man to avoid military service. Their son. Fred, Donald's father, was born a few months after they were back in New York.
