as one who has spent hours looking through his files - some hours are more expendable than others!

One thing I love is being able to glimpse a world my grandparents knew, but more importantly, my parents. Both have passed away, so looking at the 20s and 30s is a way to reconnect for me.

The church and the building behind it are still there. We now have a small park to the left of the church & I eat my lunch there every day. But the beautiful Richardsonian Romanesque Erie County Savings Bank building on the right was demolished in 1967 and replaced with an ugly & bland modernist high-rise and a shopping mall - and the mall is mostly empty.

the ribbon bar for Windows Explorer. I have no use for the Metro interface since I'm on a desktop.

It's ok overall. The next major upgrade OS will be Win9 imho. I do see why others don't like it.

MS appears adamant about not providing a "classic mode" for desktop/Intel users. My company isn't even going to offer Win8 on desktops we sell to clients.

Talk about rigid ! Some of us will NEVER use Metro, so a Start button or a default boot to Desktop is really a sensible option.

I think Win9 will have those, but what do I know.
