What are the chances the Mueller report...

... is like the Comey letter?

I just listened to Rachel Maddow’s show from last night, and she talked about sources explaining why the Barr summary was handled the way it was, having to do with the impact Comey’s letter had on Hillary Clinton’s political vitality, and wanting to avoid that with Trump. The richness of that aside, what if there is a kernel of truth to what impact the Mueller report actually has? I think many of us (myself included) are hoping the gap between Barr’s summary and the full report have Trump red-handed, but this does give me pause for what we ultimately get when it hopefully all comes to light. We really need a smoking gun in this report, but I wonder if Mueller was really able to find one.

out of hand. Even Preet, Chris Hayes, etc., are being circumspect.

Your replies are disrespectful. I share the OP's fears.

4. I kind of agree with Sarah Kendzior that we already know much of it.

We know about the contacts with Russia, the pleas to hack Hillary's emails, the DNC hacking, the change of the GOP platform, the Trump tower meeting, Michael Flynn, Carter Page, Paul Manafort, Trump's confessions on tape to Lester Holt, Trump and others changing their stories and amending their testimonies, etc.

To see it all verified in a report would be nice, but nothing new. Was there a possibility that Trump really was completely unaware he was being used by Russia? Did his addled narcissistic mind believe Paul Manafort worked for free with no ulterior motive cuz Trump was so mesmerizingly brilliant? Did Trump understand he was colluding, or committing a conspiracy, or even accepting foriegn help for spreading disinformation and affecting policy?

Once it was confirmed Russia did meddle with urging (and help from some in the Trump campaign), Trump continued to deny it and try to cover it up. That is known and will be in the report.
Was what Trump did obstruction, or unethical but not illegal use of, his presidential powers? This is for the legislature to decide, not Trump's hand picked AG.

The GOP will, no doubt, support Trump when the report comes out, but they will be severely damaged. This is not the way Americans expect their President to act. The President is not supposed to be able to cheat and lie and have people lie for him and get away with it.

7. That's just it. We know a lot already just from what Trump

himself has put out there. And the responses that are coming out from Muellers team now seem to imply that Trump is not off the hook, but it may not be from anything shockingly new at this point. The stuff that he has already done has not lead to anything consequential beyond what we can accomplish at the ballot box.

5. the Barr summary..

was handled the way it was, because Barr was hired to do a job, and he's doing it. The Republicans play by their own rules, and Comey played along. I didn't see Rachel, but giving any Republican the benefit of the doubt, is foolish.

They’re more craven than anything I’ve seen. So Muellers report needs to be so damning that it forces their hand, as Trumpwill not be removed before 2020 without their votes. I’m not sure the signs point to that being the case.

We have no idea what's actually in the Mueller report and it could be exculpatory. I assume that's not true.
