Somebody threatened to leak their private info and Wikileaks is outraged.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/wikileaks-claims-its-found-spying-operation-against-julian-assange?ref=home

Wikileaks has claimed that it's uncovered a “spying operation” against Julian Assange that has used video cameras to record his “every move” inside the the Ecuadorian embassy in London. Editor-in-Chief of Wikileaks Kristinn Hrafnsson said at a press conference early Wednesday that the group learned about a document circulating in Spain which contained thousands of photos and videos of Assange inside the embassy.

...

He claimed unnamed Spanish nationals threatened to publish the images unless Wikileaks handed over three million Euros—but Spanish police set up a “sting operation” in Madrid last week against the alleged suspects and have now opened up an an “serious extortion” investigation, he said.

Oh, the horror. Can you imagine the horror of having personal information leaked to the public?
For example, Wikileaks leaking your medical files?
Can you imagine the horror of living in a religious regime and Wikileaks leaking that you are gay?

Read the founding-documents of Wikileaks. Their philosophy is that we should go for radical transparency, because while all people get hurt by transparency, bad people get hurt more and this will over time eradicate bad people.

And now Wikileaks is sabotaging their own mission: How is transparency supposed to eradicate bad behavior if transparency is applied selectively????

He's living under the good graces of the Ecuadoran embassy in their "house" so to speak. He has no right to privacy nor, indeed, any "rights" that extend further than the right to feel physically unthreatened and to common decency and basic needs.

This has become a diplomatic black eye as well as a major PITA for Ecuador.
Why are they still sheltering him anyway? Kick him out and let him face the music.
