Why is MSNBC'S Richard Engel giving Steve Bannon a platform to shit on the Pope?

A 'special' program.

Steve Bannon and U.S. ultra-conservatives take aim at Pope Francis

The pontiff has expressed support for migrants and the poor, while warning against nationalism and unfettered capitalism.

By Richard Engel and Kennett Werner CITY —

Strolling through St. Peter’s Square, the heart of the Roman Catholic Church, Steve Bannon surveyed the enemy camp.

The populist political consultant has a new target in his crusade against “globalism” — Pope Francis.

“He’s the administrator of the church, and he’s also a politician,” said Bannon, a former adviser to President Donald Trump. “This is the problem. ... He’s constantly putting all the faults in the world on the populist nationalist movement.”

Since becoming pope in 2013, Francis has expressed a consistent message on the type of “America First” nationalism championed by Bannon.

Either that, or Bannon is more catholic than the pope.

The corporate press only cares about selling advertisements for profit. If that means advancing white nationalist Nazis, they will do it.

... and I planned on doing something else when it was scheduled to air. Bannon is scum. Nothing he nor Engels says will change that. He's a white supremacist who hides behind Aleksandr Dugin's Russian bullshit.

I don't see why anyone other than Trumpers would be interested in anything Bannon says. Does he even presently have a job?

Disagreeing with the Pope on birth control and abortion is a "War on religion". Disagreeing with the Pope on the death penalty, immigration, caring for the poor, and the excesses of capitalism is not.

...sounds like you don't think MSNBC should let anyone shit on the Pope. If that's the case, I have to disagree.

Steve Bannon has no business being platformed by anyone for any reason. The Pope, meanwhile, deserves plenty of criticism. Just not from Steve Bannon because see above.
