A Republican Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger and with help from Republican law makers
left the state with >$25 billion deficit but a liberal Democratic Governor, Jerry Brown along
with Democratic law makers now have the state with a $9 billion surplus.

California's new Democratic Governor, Gavin Newsom and current democratic law makers are
continuing along the same path and currently California has the 5th or 6th biggest economy
in the world.
