The media seems intent on "normalizing" this corrupt and narcissistic dictator wannabe.

Not all of them, but many appear to have convinced themselves that this is just "politics". They are willing to overlook all warning signs and evidence of criminality. Perhaps they are just exhausted?

Well, we are all exhausted. America is exhausted.

The latest example that I have noticed is how many are reporting that this is not an issue that the American people are interested in. They cite polls as proof that they are reporting the "right news".

Also, they say that voters are only interested in healthcare, jobs, trade, etc. And those are all very important issues, but they cannot be swapped off in a trade for our democracy.

That is not the role of the media, to report what the average citizen is or is not interested in. They should report news that the people need to know. Journalists are not janitors. We expect them to report information that people need to know, not just what they want to know.

I'm willing to bet that a news outlet that actually covered all this stuff would be surprisingly successful.

So they fall back on the same old same old coverage. And I don't think they give people enough information to really know what's happening.

I'm talking about the major networks. PBS will report more extensively but maintains a quiet tone. So you at least get the information.

I'm disappointed in NPR, which seems to want to gloss over everything.

I don't have cable but listen to Rachael's podcast and get more info that way.

Yes, the media is normalizing Trump and the GOP. They have never had to cover such a thing, and have been confused since day one with Trump. He lies so much, and so often, about everything, the media has given up. Plus, the news business is just corporations now and they are after the dollar bill. That leads to such nonsense as Kelly Anne Conway on "Meet the Press" - you might as well go get a cup of coffee, nothing she says is worth hearing. But she gets the airtime, along with other Trump sycophants in the guise of "news." It is disheartening. I don't know what will happen, but I am afraid we might be gearing up for another 4 years of Trump. Nothing can seem to stop him, even an approval rating that never goes above 50%. With the electoral college the way it is and a 30 million dollar war chest, getting rid of Trump is going to be difficult.

Ever noticed how the phrase “The President of the United States” is used endlessly to name Trump. This was not the case with Mr. Bush II. This phrase repeated endlessly elevates this petty little man and lends Trump the status of a Demi god. This is intensional .This has power and I wish the media would just stop it!

tanks and blasts 40 states with 80 senators who's staffs think those fucking dittoheads are legitimate constituency

it'd normalized because that's the dominant buzz for 10s of millions and because the dumbfucks in media keep analyzing politics as if studying fish without water --- as if talk radio doesn't exist --- what fucking idiots

maybe americans need to try something different and stop giving these shits a free speech free ride
