Nixon White House Lawyer John Dean: Mueller Report is 'More Damning' Than Watergate Report

https://www.mediaite.com/tv/nixon-white-house-lawyer-john-dean-mueller-report-is-more-damning-than-watergate-report/

Dean said that to gain some context, he looked at the Watergate report, the Iran Contra report, and Ken Starr‘s four-volume report on President Bill Clinton.

“I’ve read all of those,” Dean said. “This report from the special counsel is more damning than all of those reports about a president.”

“This is a really devastating report,” he added.

“This is clear obstruction,” he said. “The obstruction statute is an endeavor statute, as well as actual overt action. If you endeavor to obstruct — and there is much evidence here of endeavor — you violated the obstruction statue.”

1. Mueller says there were a number of Red Don's crew obstructing the investigation. Why aren't they in

... jail.

This isn't about blow jobs

3. I believe this to be true

Sadly we also have a less honorable Congress. I do believe there are Democrats that would vote to impeach and convict. I believe there may even be some Republicans that would vote the same but the gross majority of Republicans and some Democrats would not.

The fact that I included Democrats in that equation will probably get this flag but I do believe it's true.

10. It's a simple fact

There are Democratic Congress members in red states. They would likely be in a no win situation. A yea vote would kick fundraising into overdrive while mobilizing republicans and a no vote would alienate Democrats. Then there could be a mixed bag of indepedent voters.
It's a lot more complicated than we realize for them to figure out where to land. When they take their responsibilities seriously it's not very common to have easy answers and obvious solutions.

18. Just round up all the Republicans who voted to impeach and remove Clinton

Bill Clinton was never so much as indicted for anything, so there were exactly zero underlying charges. The charges of impeachment listed obstruction of justice.

Keep in mind also the matter in question was a deposition Clinton gave for a civil matter than never involved any violation of criminal law to begin with unlike the criminal conspiracy much of Trump's inner circle has already been charged and/or convicted.

All of these people should be a reliable vote against Trump, assuming they aren't fucking hypocrites which is probably a poor assumption.

15. He's talking about it for just that reason.

He thinks the report shows that this administration is as bad, or worse, than Nixon’s.

7. In Nixon's case

it was congressional members of his own party who let him know the game was over. Today's GOP doesn't have enough honorable members to field a bowling team.

24. I despised Richard Nixon back then.

BUT...Nixon longed to be remembered as a great man, a great statesman. His goal was not to line his pockets with every cent he could possibly glean. He resented his enemies (even had a list of them), but his major agenda was not to destroy them as a major priority (it WOULD be great to screw them up, but he had higher ambitions in mind). Nixon's kids had a genuine loyalty to him. Trump's kids seem to have taken every advantage possible and really suck up to him. Hate Nixon as you might, he did achieve some successes (can you believe the E.P.A.?, let alone China). Neither Nixon nor Trump were honest men, but Trump is completely lost in his own ego. He already thinks himself a great man, and hopes to exploit it in every way he can.

25. For Sure

Nixon was a bitter man, a bigot, a racist, he ordered a theft....all clear from the tapes he fought to keep out of public view. But he largely maintained acceptable behavior in public. He was book smart.

This Richie Rich Jerk we suffer now is infinitely worse and spews his venom out in public and in texts. He is mean spirited and operates like a foul mouthed mafia boss. He is a terrible President and a terrible human being, and is dumb.

27. Nonsense. Watergate had 100s of hours of tapes of Nixon. Nothing close to that with trump.

People are really losing their minds and i'm afraid its gonna blow back. He's NOT getting put out of office.
Just plan on working hard as possible to WIN IN '20.
