I watched some of the ABC and CBS after the William Barr press conference (I did not watch the press conference because I was not near a TV, or computer when it was given) and I did not see any heads exploding. Yes, I know this person is not speaking literally, nor am I. I did not see any news anchors visibly upset. They seemed to be calmly discussing what might be in the report and the things Barr said at the press conference. At most, some of the anchors seemed shocked that William Barr seemed to be acting more like a defense attorney than the Attorney General of the United States. However, even on that point, at least one, or two of the anchors pointed out that William Barr auditioned for the job by writing a memo opposing the Mueller investigation.

Maybe I am just too biased. I watched a large amount of ABC News' Special Report after the press conference. After that went off I watched a few minutes of CBS News' Special Report. No one on either channel seemed to be upset about what was said by William Barr. ABC News had a large panel of news correspondents and legal analysts. CBS News had a small panel including Norah O' Donnell, Gayle King, John Dickerson, and Johnathan Turley, the George Washington University law professor.
