The notion that Muellers report isnt a criminal indictment of the president is nonsense. Mueller is following the rule of law as established by the justice department that says a sitting president cannot be criminally indicted. But the report is an indictment for all intents and purposes, in particular for the use of the Congress, by alternative methods.
But every sentence in his report establishes in detail the corruption of the president and his acolytes. Mueller even uses the term corruption and the fact that, yes, trump is criminally corrupt. It is up to Congress to DO THEIR JOB.
Trump is technically non indictable due to a rule, not a law. No one ever thought , while promulgating this rule, that something as corrupt as trump would be in the Oval Office. We have never had a chief executive whose proclivities were as perverse, depraved or unscrupulous as what is occupying it now. How could any reasonable person think that such an evil creature would attain this highest office in the land?
If an indictment were forwarded to a court against any citizen in this country and the judge ignored it, refused to act on it or just shoved it into a drawer and said he would look at in in 18 months, after he sees how an election goes, would be acting outside the law. Congress is our court and sitting Congress members are the jurors.
Muellers report is clearly, as allowed and constrained by DOJ rule, an indictment of trump. It may not be as traditional as usual but that does not diminish or subvert its efficacy. It is Congress who must take the reigns and do its constitutionality instructed job. Hearings, with impeachment in the offing, must begin.

(2,580 posts)Someone needs to make it known that the moment Trump leaves office and no longer has DOJ protection or pardon power, he will be indicted for Obstruction and probably for other crimes in the SDNY. Let him run with that hanging around his neck.

(15,585 posts)People need to stop listening to the talking heads who say Americans want to move on from the investigation and get back to the business of legislating. Legislating what? Gridlock?
Just the reverse, we need to keep the condemning information contained in the Mueller Report front and center in full light. The best means for doing that is to hold hearings about whether or not to impeach.
Get on with it Democrats!
