Eric Holder on the Mueller Report: Congress now has a constitutional responsibility.

Tweeted minutes ago:

ANY competent public corruption prosecutor would bring obstruction charges against Trump/and win. Only reason Mueller did not was because of the flawed DOJ restriction against indicting a sitting President. He said so (below). Congress now has a constitutional responsibility.

1. The hardest part of getting of launching a rocket into space, is getting it off the launching pad.

America and our allies have waited two years for the honest process to unfold. We are 2/3rds (at least) of America. We've suffered enough to give the cretin and his family every benefit of the doubt.
The only people who have seen the un-redacted report is-apparently-folks like burr and barr and they have given it to the the WH -it seems,- every step of the way. The longer we wait for this, the bigger the resultant damage. trumps orchestrating this resistence and has been since he was elected. There will be a price to pay for not doing it. Let's make them the ones paying for what they've done.
It's time.
Our vote is our most cherished right. (We're taught and told.) If nothing else, honor that our votes count, and get the hearings started. Especially if our reps are going to come calling for that vote again, in 2 years. (As always...jmho.)

20. Barr is already situating family members in legal positions looking over corporate crime and

protecting the WH so the longer we wait to impeach the more Trump will be insulated. Legislation out of the House will be blocked in this repub senate and not covered by the media but holding Trump accountable will get voter's attention and covered by media. The longer Pelosi waits to impeach the more voters she loses and if she fails to do her constitutional duty we will lose the house and not gain the senate and get the rep of being cowardly dems. If the shoe were on the other foot impeachment would already be taking place. Pelosi no longer needs to justify impeachment but instead must justify her refusal to do so. Waiting for an election to rectify the situation is a precedent for allowing future presidents to ignore the law since there is no accountability for breaking it. Pelosi needs to recognize the seriousness of the situation and attack Trump on all fronts before he tries to make himself unaccountable and president for life. He is an admitted white nationalist fascist who needs to be stopped...now.

25. Well written, easy to read, and RIGHT ON.

Yes, Barrs family alone thinks they're going to be in on the spoils.
Grievances should be filed in every state they practice in if they do anything that even SMELLS untoward. Grievances against barr should be already mailed in by members of congress, for lying to the People of the USA, and legal malpractice. He should lose his law license.
Time is of the essence, and hemming and hawing in this regard, may be the end of us. Without any exaggeration.
We lead the world for a reason. It's time to get busy.
Prosecutor Mueller seems to have given us the tools.

2. It will take a lot of groundwork to negate the expected 2020 election interference from Putin

yet I have confidence that we will “impeach” Trump by overwhelmingly voting him out of office in 2020. Nevertheless, impeachment proceedings are imperative – NOW. And if allowed, the proceedings should include humanitarian violations for caging children and other human rights violations.

We must become our own Hague to show the world that the US is still that beacon of light for right.

4. I understand why the Dems in control are resisting impeachment or hearings.

45% of this country HATES the other 55% and will do ANyTHIng to eliminate us, period.

Not all of that 45% will get guns or whatever but they will ALL support those who do.

GOP is incapable of convicting in the Senate, but I still think hearings should begin. If the GOP steals another election, country is done anyway. For real.

22. More like 33% are the haters. Polls all show the majority are united in what they want

so your stats are more like fear mongering. More unties us than divides us and we should focus on that. Jumping to unsupported conclusions is speculating with opinions and not facts. Health care unites us, education, SS, wealth inequality, repairing our infrastructure, living wages, clean air, water, medications that won't kill us, FDA, EPA, all untie us and so much more especially saving the planet. Just ask any hater which of these they hate. Those who put personality over policy and substance are shallow and empty and in the minority.

that a sitting president cannot be indicted, why are they putting so much weight on an opinion?

This is crazy! If the person is a crook, why do you want them to continue in office, it defies logic.

26. The rediculus opinion that the current occupant of the chief executive can NOT be indicated

Is merely a ruse to keep the traitor and con in office. Some very rich Americans are making some big bucks off of Trump's crimes. If Bill Gates, the Koch bros, the waltons or even Bezos wanted Trump out of there, he would be gone, in a heartbeat. Our Capitalist American Kings and Lords made him president and they are not going to give him up until they've gotten everything they want.

When they are done with their monster, maybe they will expose him to some justice. But they still have unfinished business for their pet monster, much like they had for those German Nazis.

Capitalism destroying democracy bite by bite.

28. UN-REGULATED Capitalism.

Capitalism is a good system, so long as there are rules, w teeth. If corporations are people, then the punishments for board members and corporate owners need to be increased. Corporate America seems to need to be RE-Organized. Eliz Warren gets it.
This country isn't fundamentally about making the next unholy dollar.
Capitalism at all costs, to me, seems to be the issue.

31. Do not confuse free enterprise or traditional economies with capitalism

Capitalism is merely using accumulated capital to make more capital. It should not be allowed. Inheritance, stock sales, allowing people who do Not work in a business to own that business is what causes the excess accumulation of wealth at the top much like in the feudal economies.

There should be limits on wealth accumulation and worker underpayment and abuse. There should be plans for a fair distribution of a nation's wealth. Right now we have a free for all. It is currupting, destructive and abusive. It is what capitalism is all about. We should have an economic system that doesn't need to held in check by regulations but that grows naturally out of a system of commerce.

Don't know what that is but I do know capitalism is imploding, America is in decline. What comes next will be interesting. But transitioning will be turbulent.

21. They do have a duty. I am afraid of impeachment backfiring.

We are getting closer every day to an opportunity to vote Trump out of office. I keep telling myself that this will be the people’s impeachment of the president.

On the other hand, I worry about losing the dem grip on the house, Trump worming his way to a second term, and losing the opportunity to proceed with impeachment hearings.

I am torn about this.

If the house does hold impeachment hearings, I have no doubt that the miasma around Trump will cause him to get impeached by the house. There will be a tremendous amount of damning evidence.

But will it be a Pyrrhic victory? None of us know. I don’t like thinking about it; thinking about it arouses the same helpless, dreadful feeling that I had while watching Notre Dame burn.

30. I understand, but, what of the voting boxes themselves? And the software?

And how much has been slipped to the kremlin to do this already? ESPECIALLY when there is nobody in these "meetings" w putin and kim? You knows the keys to the front door have been given to the Kremlin already. Waiting is consenting to letting all of this go.
Imagine putin winning a war against a nation who spends more than the next 8 countries combined, by using trump and FEAR against us. He thinks he's pulling this off. At this point, the voting system is compromised. I for one, am not confident we get accurate results anymore. If we let it go....brrrr.
Unless we do this, the vote, into perpetuity, will always be suspect. Voting is our number one right. It determines everything else.
Why do you suppose right after the election everyone was told to just "give him a chance" on the right? They've already had two years. That's an eternity in the land of treason and espionage.
>>>>OF ALL the things Ivanka can use to make money...why a patent in China for voting machines? It's Diebold and Dick Cheney all over again. Chap. 2, as it were.

32. All avenues of Democrats at this point is associated with some risk. As you said, "None of us know"

Let's show political courage and do the right thing to attempt to do what the framers of our Constitution provided us in this extraordinary moment.

You fear that it could be a "Pyrrhic victory". I fear not speaking truth to power, a backlash from those voters that feel like we just rolled over to trump and the repubs and vote for an Independent candidate or not vote at all. Can we Dems not do this and still campaign on Healthcare (no more kids in cages, no more walls, no more bullying, no more cozying up to dictators, etc.)??

If we lose 2020 because of the Impeachment process, at least we went down fighting for our democracy, its institutions and the rule of law.
