2. Ha

I got two of them . James now has over $850,000 and the top five scores for one day.
Remember it took Ken 74 games to earn his cash.

3. Well, it took two of us but it was a fun category. The three we got were famous for what they

did or were involved with in their own era. I thought it was fun to solve...

12. I got two out of three, too

But I was convinced I was going to bolo it. British monarchies is one of seven of eight categories I dread.

When Hockey, Shakespeare, French literature, opera, Greek mythology, and Bible categories pop up, I usually pack it in

15. We had to know that crap at school

I am amazed at the breadth of James' knowledge.

5. He is actually the player I have been waiting for.

Roger Craig (I think that was his name) would make some big bets, but then would back off at other times.
I have been waiting for the player that would bet with some abandon.

But he couldn't do so if
1) he wasn't so damned quick on the buzzer - how does he do that? And
2) then he knows the answers - good grief this guy has a memory.

But I so enjoy seeing him not playing a cautious game like so many do. Starts at the bottom and rolls up money early - gets the daily double @ 75% of the time and answers most of the questions.

Hope Jeopardy can afford the $70,000 a day he's costing them.

7. In a sense he combines the abandon of the sports gambler

with amazing knowledge on a variety of subjects.
I'm betting he practiced that buzzer for hours.
He said the children's section of libraries is particularly helpful because they have lots of information presented in a not boring manner.

I have a lot of respect for anyone who works this hard for his/her dream.
Outside of sports, who earns close to $900,000 in twelve 30 minute sessions.

6. He is awesome. I've never watched so much Jeopardy in all my life. Plus he's so likeable.

Jeopardy's ratings must be going through the roof.

8. Everyone is watching to see if he earns more than Ken Jennings

Jennings won $2,520,700 in 74 games.

I'm lovin' it. ABC is enjoying it as well - they're talking about it quite a lot.

13. I don't think he's all that likable. He cuts Trebek off when poor Alex is reading the answer...

I guess that is what it takes to be a winner but it is rude, esp. since Alex is battling cancer...

10. I got preempted by a damn basketball game

I have to wait until 9pm PST to watch. Meanwhile, I'm watching my SF Giants get beaten by the Pittsburgh Pirates. 4-1 top of the ninth.
