(4,297 posts)I have been reading Will and Ariel Durant's history books. Again and again, even the wealthy people are described as having most of their children die before reaching adulthood. Many died in infancy or during the second year of life.

This is the philosopher Putin listens to. A romantic fascism where strong men (though not too bright) impose their will without the hindrance of understanding or the benefit of wisdom.
