We are starting to subpoena

What do we do about those that ignore them?

What can we do?

What teeth do we have?

Not Congress. Things are trickier.

9. Yep, looks like Inherent Contempt Of Congress can be used to put folk in jail and then hold them

... there until next session.

No DOJ involved.

4. So, there you have it...

They refuse to show up, the House issues a contempt citation, the U.S. Attorney for DC refuses to do anything with it, and the new SCOTUS, by a 5-4 majority, sides with the White House, based on "unitary executive powers." Game over.

7. Congress will not lose on the suppoena for Trumps taxes, and will not lose on McGhan as

executive privilege does not apply as it has already been waived. There is precident fot these issues, which the white house will lose in court. In most of the cases when a contempt of congress was voted on, the records were eventually turned over. The problem is, that the citations expire at the end of every congress, so it would have to start all over again if they drag it out that long unless they can get the court to expedite these.

12. This is what Rachel said

But I'm not so sure. If the case goes to one of Trump's crazy new judges, he could win. We are screwed and I am very afraid.

8. If he can get away with this, he will ramp things up

He will do all manner of things from closing the border to separating families again to massive deportations and arrests.
