2) He's likely to get less support from Republicans and Trumpers (although he'll get a lot)
3) It would bring his malfeasance out into the open where the general public will see it
4) It would create some consequences for his behavior, even if he isn't removed.
5) It would start talk about impeachment.

I don't see any down side to doing it, and as we always say, Dems can chew gum and walk at the same time.
