(32,633 posts)I got in trouble for posting this same photo a while back. I love it and think it's hilarious, but somebody must have complained on DU. My post was hidden and I was spanked.

(17,302 posts)did you enjoy the spanking?
FakeNoose
(32,633 posts)I got a nasty-gram from DU and they told me the post was "hidden."
I couldn't believe somebody had complained about it.

(17,302 posts)I hate seeing those incoming messages from the DU police.
I've only been on DU for a couple of years but I don't remember alerting on anyone's posts. I understand the rules are here for a reason but I swear there must be a few people here who act as "hall monitors" over the most benign things.

(9,685 posts)They are the round the world thinkers on any site.... if you do not think exactly like me you are wrong.
However having worked on many juries....some posts are just whack!

(153,150 posts)what kills me is when the majority of a jury goes along with it......it happens a LOT - I think all too often, juries miss the context

And then there are the trolls.
Recently there was an OP about Chris Hayes show covering Dying of Whiteness which dealt with Trumps base. I responded that we should let them die. Someone alerted on it as me being racist against whites. the jury deleted my tweet and warned me of future censure. I replied explaining that it was in response to the OP subject matter and that I am white so therefore I cant be racist against my own race. Crickets....
Im glad to see youre back!

(153,150 posts)I've never served on a jury so I don't know if they only see the post or if they can review the thread - I know they completely missed my humor quite often (I was alerted on / censored for saying "put down the pipe and get some sleep" to someone who posted actual gibberish)

(30,733 posts)several posts around the offending post. I am not sure it is always enough.
All of us discussing this could get in trouble for interfering with forum moderation. We are not supposed to complain.

(81,220 posts)Shes no bitch, of course. But she FUCKING WARNED US ALL. Regardless who calls her what. She was right. AGAIN.
And lets none of us forget - she got more votes. SHE win this thing. He was able to steal it because he games the system (as he always does) and cheated. With the help of a HOSTILE FOREIGN POWER.

(32,633 posts)I know it wasn't you who complained.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't the naughty words because I see those every day on DU. Disclaimer: I can't take any credit for creating this meme, I just found it on Twitter one day and grabbed it. Thought it was great and very true. She DID warn us after all.
Some people on DU are very thin-skinned, it seems.

(81,220 posts)Perhaps there are some who consider her a bitch because she did. But I consider her right on the money - again.
I have a friend like that. Caught her muttering bitch! in my kitchen when the subject of Hillary Clinton came up. She was staying with us for a few days. And I wouldnt stand for it, even for this friend. I told her immediately and flat out - NO ONE calls Hillary Clinton a bitch in MY house!
A most interesting reaction followed. She literally jumped, looking at me wide-eyed and mouth-agape almost as though Id just set a bomb off under her chair. I guess I had. Shed moved from true-blue California to a red state, where I suppose she felt as though she could more freely and comfortably express red-state views. Her reaction told me this was something she was definitely NOT used to getting when she badmouthed Hillary Clinton.
I wasnt all that surprised, though. While she still lived in California, Id been to her home several times, for different occasions including parties. There was one in particular, in which I felt like I was surely the only Democrat in the building! I found myself surrounded by Clinton-haters. Everywhere. In the balcony. Inside in the kitchen. And the living room. And the guest bedroom where I somehow wound up with a bunch of chain-smoking Hillary-haters spouting all kinds of manufactured resentments and imaginary crimes and scandals and other hate-radio crap long-since debunked. About 30 seconds of that and Id had ENOUGH! Grabbed my car keys, located my friend to say goodbye - and left!

(30,733 posts)He was an excellent carpenter and good at a number of other things.
Before the election, he told us Hillary was evil and he could never vote for her. We have not had him back. We found someone else to do the rest of the work here.

# 2, it is demeaning to insinuate that she would talk that way
# 3, who the hell is "All Y'all?

(6,847 posts)But the spectacle of a Beautiful, Intelligent, Talented, Charming, and Honest woman reclaiming a word that has been used against her more times than you or I can count, is - not funny exactly - possibly inspiring, even if imaginary. I agree she is unlikely in the extreme to use the word in reality.
