"...Trying for an overthrow...and we caught 'em.....we caught 'em."

Trump's comments speaking before the NRA yesterday.

What should we read in those comments?

It seems to me that he is ready for another investigation, as soon as he can talk Barr into it. That should not be hard to do.

Also, he has mentioned all the top names in intelligence, and Hillary Clinton, as people he would like to lock up. These are the words of an authoritarian, a dictator. We should take them very seriously.

It is unbelievably shocking that he says these things out loud, in public forums.

And even more shocking that the House and Senate do nothing about it.

These are not comments found in a functioning democracy.

This rhetoric fits in with the whole drain the swamp narrative. There is a lot of talk about criminal referrals to Barr from Nunes and others on the net if you search. Regardless of outcome it will be spun to a 2020 win/win, either they win or they claim Pelosi, and others stone walled and obstructed the investigation. The challenge is to prove they didn't, or as LBJ once famously said "I just want to hear them deny it". There is still plenty of time for Comrade Trumpkins to do lots of damage to his perceived enemies.

Trump wants to win at any cost. May heaven help us all. He sure won't.

She claims to be a DC press pool photographer (possible, but dubious), and was crowing about all the indictments coming down the road against Hillary and the DNC by Barr, Nunes, etc. in the next couple of months.

Given that she seems about as sharp as wet playdoh, I suspect that she's picking up on the campaign of obfuscation that the RW is trying to drum up to both discredit the Mueller report and attempt to take back the narrative.

Remember that 2020 is an incredibly important year. The census will determine redistribution of Congressional districts and the momentum (that had been moving towards the GOP into 2016) is now moving away from it. They risk losing control of several state governments and quite likely any chance of taking back the House or the Presidency in the next ten years. At this point they don't care about doing what's right, only at winning at any cost.

I always thought that Hitler's use of Brownshirts was instructive. He had hoped to turn them into a formal paramilitary organization, but what he discovered was that most lacked any sense of discipline, coordination or even physical fitness. I believe it was Goering that finally convinced him to disband the Brownshirts and establish the SS instead, a move that Hitler resisted for a while.

I've wondered for a while if that was Trump's reason for working through ICE. They're part of Homeland Security, which puts them outside of the purview of the US Military (and the UCMJ). However, by all indications ICE is struggling to recruit enough able-bodied people, let along highly trained ones, because most people DO have a line they won't cross. Meanwhile, he's burned all the bridges to the military.

Frankly, I'm not sure who he'd have left to be part of the "great uprising".
