Those of you who Trump has claimed are trying to enter the United States via our southern border, please be advised that the terrorism jobs you are hoping to find here have already been filled by white supremacists, racists, and bigots.
You cannot compete with them for openings in the terrorism field, as they have the full backing of Trump and the Republican party. In addition, they dont have to worry about access to automatic weapons, as they are as easily procured as a WH security clearance.
The home-grown terrorism industry is a rapidly growing business, making foreign applicants for these positions completely unnecessary.
Despite putting Russias interests first, there is one group that Trump & the GOP will protect without hesitation: Putting American Terrorists First! Foreigners need not apply!

(713 posts)I am tired of people who put the mentally ill in the same category as white supremacists, racists, and bigots. People with psychiatric conditions do not cause crimes at a rate higher than the general population.
Furthermore, people who are mentally ill are more likely to be victims of crimes than the general population. People with psych conditions are human beings suffering from an illness, and I am tired of them being demonized to make someone's political point.

(27,813 posts)... that due to the loopholes in so-called 'background checks', the mentally ill can purchase weapons.
But I will remove that from the OP, lest it be misunderstood.

(713 posts)I realize that a lot of well meaning people make this sort of mistake. I used to work in Human Services with Psych Patients, and they are people like anyone else- good, bad, and otherwise. There has been a long history of demonizing this population and treating them as less than fully human. It is something that we all need to be more educated about. Thank you for stepping up and making a correction.

(14,489 posts)foreign operatives of all stripes must be overjoyed because all they need to do to satisfy many of their goals is spread disinformation and hatred on American social media and blogs. No need to risk their lives coming here or spending money on travel to the USA.
They just sit back at their computers thousands of miles away and feed our citizens thousands of lies and deceptions each day, and then watch the slow destruction.
And, they're doing that to virtually every democracy in the world.

I wonder if Trump has already put the word out globally: "If you get caught, don't worry - I'll pardon you no matter where you are."

From what I understand, they still have not done jack shit.
I agree, Nance, that this admin wouldn't hesitate to apply diplomatic and economic pressure to prevent foreign investigation and prosecution of known right-wing external political internet operatives. The GOP has no true morals or patriotism, just plutocratic hunger for power.
This situation is sickening and Congress must apply a heavy foot on the back of any politician that stonewalls progress toward preventing foreign interference in the functioning of our government.
