tRump Refuses To Attend Ceremony For Black Teacher Of The Year

tRump won’t honor African-American teacher of the year

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported:

Bucking tradition, President [Benedict] Donald tRump will not attend a White House ceremony Monday honoring Richmond’s Rodney Robinson, who was named National Teacher of the Year last week.

In winning the award, Robinson, a teacher in Richmond’s juvenile detention center, will travel the country spreading his message that students of color need more teachers of color and impoverished students need more resources.

“Of all Americans, it may be the president who most needs to hear Rodney’s message of equity, inclusion and justice,” Superintendent Jason Kamras said. “As Rodney has so powerfully demonstrated with his work, our greatness as a country comes from the millions of people of all backgrounds who strive every day to right the wrongs of the past so we can become a more perfect union.”

Decisions such as this one confirm the public opinion that Donald tRump is a racist. - PoliticusUSA

From the article, a quote from Mr. Robinson (the highlight is mine):

The 40-year-old said before he was named National Teacher of the Year that he would go to the White House ceremony, something many sports teams, including the University of Virginia men’s basketball team, have decided not to do since Trump took office in 2017.

“It’s to honor the people who worked for people with little respect for them,” said Robinson, referring to slaves who built the White House. “It’s not about Trump.”

Ugh! Poor guy, he wins a great honor and the only people available to present it to him are vile, hateful racists. He's probably glad Trump won't be there because he would obviously be bored out of his mind that it wasn't all about him. However, it's so disrespectful that he is blowing it off without a reason. I hate this president more with each passing day.

who never attended a public school of any kind and never allowed any of her children to attend a public school, who "bought" her position as Secretary of Education by donating millions of dollars to the GOP and Trump, and who is trying to gut funding of public education any way she can, including the use of funds for her unprecedented 7-plus million dollar a year security detail......what an insult to the outstanding teachers who are supposedly being "honored."

Bravo to the teachers. They deserve so much better.

Trump is, at the very least (and I do mean, least) being his authentic self. There is a disturbing satisfaction to this "non-lying" behavior on his part. It is definitely more palatable than watching him pose with people for whom he has no real affinity or regard and wishing that the people next to him could take an immediate shower to wash the putrid presence of his lack of character off themselves.
