Sooo.

From what I am reading here on Democratic Underground is that Democrats suck. They are spineless. They need to get their balls out of the jar where they stored them. Nancy Pelosi is old and should get the hell out of the way. SHE TOOK IMPEACHMENT OFF THE TABLE! She sucks.(no she didn't and no she does not.)

Yes, I have read this and more here. "Oh goody a sternly written letter!" "I don't want to hear what they could do, I want to hear what is happening NOW!" Do it, Do it now, wimps!

Fact is they are following the rule of law and finding the best way to make it happen. They have submitted subpoenas. GOP stalls. They are working hard to make this right. If you all thinks it's so easy, then apply for that job and make it all happen with a snap of your fingers.

We hold a majority in ONE branch of the government. You understand that correct? A huge blue wave got us where we are today, a very small balance of power, but we won that through hard work and voting en mass.

Sadly I saw the same thing happening here in 2008 when Obama was first elected. I wasn't a member just then, only reading.

He became President in one of the worst financial times where we were at the brink of a deep depression. He won a huge landslide victory and brought us back from the brink. Then he was ripped to shreds, vilified for not doing anything fast enough.

Me, I am a Democrat. Always have been.

Vote Democratic 2020 and beyond.

Fact is our lives depend on it.

It's both the strength and weakness of our position. The GOP appears to have abandoned the rule of law and 200+ years of American precedence. We have a case based on the rule of law, but if they really have abandoned the American experiment, then being right won't help.

It takes a certain ego to presume you have the ability to run a a country of 300+ million people, and I assume alot of the backroom deals and backstabbing that it takes to maneuver to that point is not particularly pretty. Therefore, I don't tend to think of politicians as particularly "good people," regardless of party, though I'm sure as hell glad there's more on our side of the aisle right now (at least in the House).

Love is a pretty lose word. It can mean many things.

I love that it is sunny today. Love how my hair looked after I blew dried it. I love peoples passion when they speak. It means respect many times. Fact is I love the peace and love that the Obama's shared with this country and the world. We were in a better place with them. They lived and thrived in a racially charged Presidency. They did it with grace and class.

One of the identities of President Barack Obama is the profound love and admiration women have for him. The fact that our 44th President was smart, good looking, charismatic, trim, fit, intelligent, introspective, and possessed a sense of humor didn't hurt. But the quintessential reason so many women loved President Barack Obama is because women love men who love children; and Barack Obama loves children. They are confronted every day with the likes of Devin Nunes, Louie gohmert, Donald Trump, and down the line of stupid, evil, vicious, sick, twisted, perverted, stinking depraved traitors. Forces that gloat as they destroy our Constitution, our nation, and our world.

You know when you have a backstabbing enemy sabotaging everything you do at work? Our Democrats have a whole world mob of backstabbers assaulting them and trying to destroy everything we want them to do.

There are procedures that need to be followed to get to where we want to go. They have laid out these procedures, thought out the advance lines of planning, and are steering things that way. They deserve our support, not our abuse.

Many people seem to be ignorant of the conduct and procedures that have to be followed. They have no idea of the kind of hell that is being dumped on our Democrats. Maybe they think that dumping more hell will get better results.

For better or for worse, the Democratic Party really is the last, best hope of humankind. It is a battle of mythical scale. We'd all better put on our suits of armor and battle it out along side them.

But if they were, and Nancy Pelosi would become president, we'd hear about how terrible SHE is. God knows, we've already heard that while she is Speaker and even before. I don't know what would make these people satisfied; I really don't. I have to suspect that at least some of them aren't really Democrats, or like some politicians are Democrats temporarily or in name only.

The fact is that Democrats in Congress must follow procedures, as frustratingly slow as that can be. If they don't, whatever they'd accomplish wouldn't stand up in court. That shouldn't even have to be said, but it seems we do have to say it.

Vote Democratic. Always. Up and down ticket. And for gods' sake, VOTE.

They must follow the rule of law. "If they don't, whatever they'd accomplish wouldn't stand up in court."

I don't know why people don't understand this. I also don't understand that some wish us to become lawless like them. I do not want to become them and we will if we do.

This is exactly what I've been saying.

The Dems in the House have hired expert lawyers. They are weighing the various strategies. There's not exactly a roadmap; we are in uncharted waters.

They are determining a strategy that will work best. There is time. Once impeachment hearings start, there's no turning back. We have one shot. It's important that the public be in agreement, because impeachment won't remove him.

There is more than one way to skin a cat. It's worthwhile to consider various strategies, rather than move headlong into something in a rash way.

We have some time.

Impeachment is not off the table. Pelosi never said that. None of the Democratic leaders have said that.

It's actually as important, if not more important, if they are able to get secret indictments filed, so Trump is arrested after he leaves office. I don't know if they are able to do that.

This is uncharted territory. They are consulting lawyers, having meetings, sent out over 88 subpoenas or official requests for documents, called witnesses to testify. They are proceeding in an orderly fashion. "Proceeding" being the operative word.

And I couldn't agree with you more. If we are to save this nation, we have to do one thing as well as the Republicans: stick together. You should consider that the Dems in Congress might just know WTF they are doing and have a good reason for doing what they are doing, whether you agree with it or not. Let them do their jobs! They know why they are there and they ARE getting it done! The time for bashing and critique can come after we have pulled this Democracy from the edge of the cliff, but squabbling and criticizing now, is pushing us closer to the edge. In my view, if you are bashing the party leadership right now, you are shitting all over the sacrifices our forefathers made to build this nation; you are helping Putin destroy what credibility and stability and remaining HOPE to survive as a Democratic nation. So STFU if all you got is bitching! Go over to the other side if that's all you got. Help put out the GD fire and stop whining about the water temperature or get lost!

and always read them.

I read a news article that quoted a democratic rep as saying that many reps were moving slowly on imoeachment as they "weren't hearing much about it from the voters".

I believe contacting and urging action as such is actually our duty as citizens, much more so under present conditions.

I believe to be heard and taken seriously it is necessary to do so in a polite and respectful manner. Using terms like "spineless" and "no balls" is counterproductive and uncalled for.

That said, I am really wishing I had a pair of ruby slippers I could tap together right now to take me back to the Obama years.

This is an actual gangster administration.

I have similar feelings about anyone who calls the party "corrupt" and suggests that there's "no difference" between the GOP and Democrats.

It's that kind of negativity that generates apathy. Apathy discourages voter turnout. Low voter turnout gives Republicans a chance to steal the elections.

Unfortunately.

I simply cannot tolerate such people any more. I have seen too many Presidential elections stolen by Republicans since the time of Nixon for exactly these reasons.

In EVERY single case, the Democratic alternative was significantly the better option.

And still, some will NEVER learn.

We elect the people we are best for the job.
Now LET THEM DO THE DAMN JOB WE HIRED THEM TO DO!

You think it's easy being Speaker of the House?
You think it's easy trying to plot your way through these waters?

Then toss your hat into the ring and run for office!
Ask questions it you don't understand what Dems are doing, but ask respectfully.

We NEED to win the Presidency back and the Senate as well, if possible.
It's not going to happen if we keep bickering among ourselves and being pissed because Dems aren't doing what we think they ought to do. Let them know our opinions, certainly. But let the professionals guide the Ship of State in the way think best.

I've been staying out of GD because of posts like you mentioned.. also I'm sick of hearing about what the Psycho is lying about next.

Sooo, you really got this all out there.. hope it serves as wake up call. Glad so many appreciate your OP!

Yes, it was horrible the way President Obama was treated on this board back then.. I left in 2010 for 2 years because of it.

Only came back because the Admins formed Groups that only those who adhered to our Mission Statements were allowed in.. and that's where we met upish!.. in the BOG

But even after 2012 the OP that "President Obama was a POSUCS" was allowed to stand, with over a hundred RECS.. thankfully those types left for JPR..

And, here we are fighting for our lives like you so eloquently stated..
