My "difference between D and R" joke is becoming popular

In ref https://www.democraticunderground.com/100212071513 (Utne Reader condensed version: a hurricane hits Florida and causes a billion dollars in damage. The Democratic solution is to send the Army and spend $1.2B of tax dollars. The Republican solution is to start a faith-based charity and give tax cuts to encourage people to donate. That’s what they do, and it ends up costing the taxpayer 10 times as much as if we’d followed the Democratic solution in the first place.)

This morning I learned the joke has over 3200 upvotes on Quora.

2. An oldie but goodie

I still like the old reference:
"D" means Drive; "R" means Reverse.

3. That's not a joke - it's the truth!

I don't have the numbers in front of me but after Hurricane Katrina, studies showed that outsourcing government services to private contractors and charities resulting in a far less thorough clean-up in New Orleans...

6. Yes, they love their Disaster Capitalism.

I'm sure they're already salivating in anticipation of hurricane season.

10. I don't get it...

Maybe it's too early in the AM for my feeble brain to see the humor in this one.

12. Well, there is no humor

But you get the gist: anything you entrust Republicans to do costs 10 times as much and takes three times as long as the same thing if Democrats would have done it, and fewer people get hurt if we handle things.

11. In Mary Karr's Liar's Club...

...She says her dad claimed that Republicans are the ones who can't enjoy a good meal unless they know someone else is going hungry. Sounds about right.
