Don't read my screed because it may offend you

if you are going to support males over females. For 400 years white southern males had freedom to rape women and sexually abuse and rape both male and female children of African American slaves. After the Civil War, those men never got over the loss of their sexual freedom. "The South will rise again" bullshit is so much about the white privilege of sexual assault. This narrative is alive today with the restrictive laws against abortion. Men want control over women including rape victims. Every Black American who is decedent from slaves, with European blood in their DNA, can basically see that one of their female ancestors was raped by a white man. Why is this not part of the discussion when it comes to all these white Southern men voting to restrict women from the rights to their own bodies? There is a fresh history here. Roy Moore, anyone?

Scarlett and then the next scene she wakes up with a big smile on her face -- isn't this the same propaganda that you're talking about?

We as a country have never addressed this deep shame of sexual abuse and assault on women and children of color. I suppose since Black American women were released from slavery all those "Southern gentleman" turned their cravings on white women and children as well. Southern Shame!

Excellent.

And let's not forget the complicity of many white women who looked the other way when their husbands raped their slaves and then aligned with their husbands to help subjugate and abuse these same black women.

And post-slavery, many white women continued to participate in the degradation of black women who knew that it would only take one negative word to force then back into unemployment and, more terrifyingly, one pointed dainty white finger and "it was him that did it" to send their men to hang mutilated from the town square oak tree

But we're not supposed to talk about that, are we?

This isn't about religion specifically, although that's a convenient cover. It's not about fetuses. It's about white men controlling the bodies of women. There is a segment of our population that is not reactionary. They are ultra reactionary. They are the Rethuglican party. They are the white nationalists. They are most of the viewers of Fox News. And they will not be happy until they drag our country back to a time when white men could own women, indiscriminately kill Native Americans and keep black people like livestock. I'm not kidding. They really want to go back there. It was the time of ultimate white male privilege.

Sexual control is what dick dominance is pretty much all about.

No personal responsibility. Just some flesh to poke.

Just some relief.

A lot of religion, politics and social propaganda have been enforced just to justify solving this one stupid bodily "problem."

Period. It is based on hatred, anger, self indulgence and the need to feel superior.

Evidently a lot of people are just fine with it.

I'm descended from 18th century Maryland tobacco farmers who had slaves. I married a man who turned out to be the most racist man I have ever known. My only value to him was how I could be of service to his needs. We are divorced now, but I know that racism and misogyny are passed down through the generations.

I'm truly sorry for the injustices you have suffered in the past and continue to endure in the present.

Please tell me what I can do to make amends.

You can practically gauge a country's level of socio-economic development, by the power its women have over their bodies and lives in general.

Had The CSA succeeded in seceding (and, thanks to European royalty, they nearly did), the CSA would no doubt be another Mexico - and probably worse.
