Seth Hettena on CNN: Accounting information is better than tax information.
Tax information is private and can be kept from the public. Accounting information has no such restrictions.
E. Cummins told April Ryan that the order is a very big deal. A very big deal. She said he said it twice. There is no stay. Red Don will have to ask the superior court and then ultimately the SC for a stay. The judge is a black man appointed by Obama but has ruled in Red Don's favor in the past according to April. We shall see if justice prevails. The fucker's on his way to PA. He'll be crazy tonight.

6. I was wondering about that. He looked Middle Eastern or something to me...
but Indian fits.
I can imagine what Trumpers are saying about that right now. ("He's a Muslim!" ![]() |

9. Well, we're saying, this is a judge who isn't afraid of Trump-
and believes in the rule of law, and ... thirdly but still important, shows the greatness of our diverse society, by damn.

2. Since the judge denied the stay, by the time Trump can appeal
the committee will already have the records - so what's the point? In any event, the accountant's records are almost certainly more useful and interesting than the tax returns, because tax returns don't tell much about what assets a person has; only how much money they made or lost. I think the accounting records will be very juicy.

5. The firm will be allowed "time" to pull everything together.
It may be a race. But the order should not be stayed regardless. Who knows how far the courts will go to cover for Red Don.

7. The parties already agreed on the subpoena return date,
and the accounting firm has never opposed turning over the records. They requested a "friendly" subpoena just to cover their butts. I'm sure they'll produce the records as ordered rather than risk fines or their firm partners going to jail.

and is ready to strike. FU red don.

12. What that would mean is that Congress would have to return the records & couldn't use them.
They couldn't use those records for anything...other cases or investigations, impeachment, etc.
But the good thing is that they would have seen them, and gotten information from them which would give them knowledge they could use. |

Or something like that.

14. That may mean that the Judge thinks it's unlikely the ruling will be overturned OR
that Trump can ask the Appellate Court to halt the production of the documents, while it gets briefs on appeal. The Judge may suspect Trump would use the appeals (there will be two) would be used as a delay tactic.
A great ruling. |
