Have you ever stopped to consider how much simpler, cleaner and less stressful life

would be if people just minded their own business? I am still of relatively sound mind and body and it is all I can do to try to keep my own thoughts, words and actions within the boundaries of honesty and decency which I have set for myself. I have not the time, wisdom or desire to attempt to impose my notions of morality on anyone else.

I sometimes wonder if the moralistic blue noses don't choose to tell others how to live because that is much easier than examining their own motivations and controlling their own impulses.

It is a wonder that some still think that standing up to rumpie is blue nose patriotism, not political suicide.

This was snark? You always deliver a compelling, thoughtful tweet.

if you're talking about private sex lives between consenting adults, or abortion rights, yes, absolutely. if you're talking about a president who cages babies and takes them away from their families, lies to the country every time he speaks, and is getting rich by self dealing from the WH, not so much.

how you love them is none of my business.

Whether a pregnant woman chooses an abortion is none of my business.

If you are into piercings and tats and wear a bright blue mohawk, that is none of my business.

If, however, you hurt others with your words or actions, THAT is the business of all people of conscience.

Hope that clarifies the OP.

6. I have found that life is much less stressful without a TV.

I have no problem keeping up with the news, and I'm not bombarded by the bullshit that's on TV. Especially political ads, come election season.

Oh, and I read books. That tends to keep me well informed.

To intrude upon another's labor is unseemly, and counterproductive to my efforts.

fundie origins. If you managed to totally convince yourself all this stuff is good, true and the best course of action, life would be total bliss. No sleepless nights wondering if there will be bees to pollinate the garden. No rage at the lack of justice for the crime family in the White House. And when a tornado takes out your house you would be able to stand with a stupid grin on your puss and say "it's a miracle" because "God saved you." Not so much the poor slob down the street, but whatever. Maybe it's got something to do with a brain-eating parasite. LOL.

not going around causing trouble for other people. Of course stopping those who cause trouble for others must be the business of moral, responsible people.

As a liberal, most of my moral code fits the notion that one man's rights continue until they stop where another man's nose begins. So, if they choose, my neighbors can eat their pet that died of natural causes instead of burying him. Though I may refuse dinner invitations, I'll be a courteous neighbor just as long as they don't try to eat anyone else's.
