Questions are like kryptonite to Republicans

Last edited Mon May 27, 2019, 11:07 PM - Edit history (4)

They cannot explain HALF of the bullshit they spew while most Democrats can support arguments with reason and facts.

If the media simply ASKED QUESTIONS instead of narrating predetermined rhetoric (ie., “both sides”, “...Democrats...”) the national conversation would change.

Questions are powerful. Why do you think that they would rather break the law than answer them?

Here’s a tip:

Don’t debate a Republican question their claims. Follow up and stick to getting verifiable answers. I find over and over that they cannot respond when questioned.

.

The GOPers know just to come back with some bullshit line, knowing the questioner will just move to the next one.

They must treat these people like that have Borderline Personality Disorder and keep asking the same question until they either get a legitimate answer or the interviewee walks off the set in anger.

preexisting conditions and and return to decent, properly functioning government. That spoke to the desires of some moderate conservatives in the midterms, whose votes helped turn the suburbs blue and even some rural areas pink.

And for sure they will not be asking questions and proving -- to their own minds only -- that Republicans are wrong. That'd be like spitting acid into a strong wind.

As for me in the deep south, these days I only speak up when they complain about government and I remind them that they don't have to take "it," that every two years they have the opportunity to kick the crooks out of office and elect people who won't betray them. These topics are mostly strenuously avoided, but when I am rarely asked about anything I tell them it's above all a moral issue for me, which it always is, and I have no choice but to hold the position I do.

That's how it seems.

They ask once. Listen to a long deflection spiced with a few examples, in their view, of even worse behaviour by Democrats

Then usually move on to cover the next question on the list.

Some more senior hosts will repeat the question ONCE. Even chide them with saying that they didn't answer it. But all the Republican has to do is repeat themselves, perhaps even get "TV angry" at being asked again, and add even more examples of how the Democratic party is actually much worse.

Then it is dropped.

I guess these news networks think its not great viewing, but I for one would LOVE for them to simply keep repeating the question, telling then they are not answering. And each time they don't, interjecting with other past quotes they made to paint them into a tighter and tighter corner. And if they throw their mic off and storm out...so what? Wouldn't that make good TV too?

Republican. A few "how do you know"s and let them do the talking and they quickly unravel all on their own. Its never really fair because as you say there are rarely any facts that support the things they say.
