Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson

Was on Bill Maher last night. I wish that all Americans could have watched him. He said something very scary. He is a member of a group who are getting ready to meet to plan a course of action when Trump decides to take over. The group wants to determine if the heads of our military will follow Trump or the Constitution. This is no joke. If Trump loses the election he just might call the election rigged and declare martial law.

People need to fucking wake up. While Democrats are deciding whether to impeach, wait, or not impeach, a group of patriots are meeting to find a course of action to save our democracy.

Wilkerson isn’t someone prone to hysterics.
This country is in way worse shape than anyone can imagine.

Laugh at this thread at your own peril.

or apparently even coordinated oversight hearings to determine* if impeachment is justified even odder. What, she doesn't want to tick him off? I don't get it.

* i.e. demonstrate to the public

11. As you know, they are currently working on oversight...

and yes, I understand that they aren't being compliant (more fodder for the case if a formal impeachment inquiry is started).

I think Pelosi understands there is only one shot at this and is acting from that premise. I highly doubt she cares whether or not Individual-1 is ticked off or not.

The moment Trump leaves office, he's going to be charged with a multitude of crimes. He knows this and will do anything to prevent it.

4. I'm more scared military leadership will obey Trump's orders for another war

Let's say Trump decides to bomb Iran and orders ground troops to invade, to distract from political problems and increase his support before the election. James Mattis may have resisted such orders, but Trump's acting Defense Secretary may not have the nerve.

He wants to testify at Cheney’s war crimes trial.

Hmm. Come to think of it, there’s another one who escaped justice and impeachment.

comments were never fleshed out.

Almost sounded like he and some old military buddies get together with a couple of bottles of of good scotch or bourbon to discuss stuff of political and military interest (sort of a book club). It didn't sound like some big high level group of national leaders to me.

I'm glad to have people like Wilkerson on our side, but he was acting rather smug last night and kept interrupting Kirsten Powers. I think she was getting rather ticked at his interruptions.

Love Bill Maher, but his "trump won't leave if he loses the election or gets removed by the senate" shtick sounds too much like GOPers who said Obama was trying to become dictator and wouldn't leave office.

We already have Barr ignoring a federal judge.
We have Trump making money off the presidency every day. Barr refuses to release the counterintelligence information, the entire Mueller report, the grand jury info. Why should they comply with election results?

When Trump’s kid gets to set the rules for his subpoena just think what daddy can get away with?

7. i really worry about the military. they have not pushed back at all,

as far as i have seen.
they let him deploy them to the border, they let him shift money to his vanity wall, they hid a war ship named after 3 generations of american military leaders, they let sailors wear blatantly political patches on their sleeves while on duty, they let him blather at their events then invite him back for more.

so many illegal, immoral orders, all followed.
they are so ideologically so tightly aligned, so many white supremacists from bottom to top.

yeah, i put no faith in the military to save us.

It’s not a Constitutional crisis yet. We need to wait until Trump ignores a court order. Well, Barr has ignored the orders of a federal judge. What’s the next red line, ignoring election results?

He certainly won't accept the 2020 results if he loses. Derchowitz and other RW crazies are already arguing that SCOTUS should step in and overrule the Senate if it should vote to remove him. An orderly transfer of power seems to be the least likely outcome at this point.

Even when reading The Borowitz Report, I can't muster a chuckle until I get to the end and find out it's from him. I often imagine the scenario where Trump will have to be removed from the Oval Office in the fashion of Julian Assange.

Wilkerson is a by the book patriot who has served his country ever since he was eligible.

CA, NY and New England will call a separatist convention.

Some other states will follow. I would favor sending a delegation to Ottawa to negotiate entry into the Canadian confederation.
