I believe Pelosi is telling the American people this;

We will investigate, We will present our evidence to the people. Give me roughly sixty percent and I will impeach. Pelosi is telling us she needs to see polls that say roughly sixty percent of the American people want Trump impeached. That number would put Republicans jobs in the Senate at risk if they voted not too convict. That's my opinion.

Pelosi has it backwards. A poll favoring impeachment cannot be taken seriously UNTIL an official impeachment inquiry is undertaken. That's because it's in an impeachment inquiry where most of the evidence for impeachment is shown to the US public, and not before. Pelosi wants the evidence for impeachment exposed before an inquiry takes place. But it's the inquiry that does the job!

Pelosi appears to have little faith in the impeachment process as a tool for informing the US public of Trumpy's crimes. But that's precisely what the function of the impeachment process is.

...(Deutsche Bank, Capital One, + others) plus his tax returns. If there's evidence of crimes, that can all be shown to the public as evidence for impeachment.

Plus, the Flynn-Kislyak transcripts. Trump is about to get his butt kicked by the judge on those. Again, they can be shown to the public as evidence for impeachment.

I really think that's what she's waiting for. Get all this incriminating evidence together, via the investigations of 5 committees that are currently underway. Show it to the public. Drive public opinion in support of impeachment, then officially start the inquiry.

During Watergate is was the Senate Committee hearing that presented most of the evidence against Nixon that swayed public opinion. That was not an impeachment inquiry. It wasn't until May 1974 that the first impeachment hearing was held after polling showed that most of the public was in favor of impeachment.

When his dirty deeds and secrets are laid out for public viewing he will run like the coward he is. Barr is hiding devastating information about Trump and the GOP. He and some GOP members most likely have secret accounts in a foreign country with no extradition treaty.

In the meantime, Nancy Pelosi and Dem congress members needs to keep repeating to amplify:

* That GOP senators were in Russia on Independence Day.
* How Trump and Barr are hiding the contents of a report we paid for.
* How much of our tax money is being spent on his golf trips.
* How much of our tax money is paid at his properties.
* How he dodged the draft with fake deferments.
* How pretty much everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie etc.

I don"t understand why Dems are not stating his his crimes and misdeeds over and over again . Of course it won't change the opinion of his base. But it would sway some Independents.

Amplify, amplify, amplify

Take that book and start the process so you can present the information. If you fail, you fail. But it’s better than this doublespeak situation we’re in now.

If she thinks he’s earned impeachment, say that. Otherwise, stop telling me how terrible he is...because you’ve got power to wield and you aren’t.

The Mueller probe was limited in scope and only following criminal leads. A Congressional investigation has a broader mandate. Mueller didn't look into the financial stuff, the hush payments, the inaugural committee stuff and so forth. Yes, he did hand off some of that to other jurisdictions such as the SDNY - but none of that is contained in Mueller's 440 page report.

. . .in getting out the vote for our candidates in 2019 and 2020.

Pelosi and the Democrats in DC cannot do this alone. They will and should do everything they can to hold the investigations and hearings in the weeks and months ahead; ultimately leading to a decision to impeach/indict. During that time they must put ALL Republicans on the spot and in the hot seat.

They constitute only one of at least a 2-prong plan to get rid of Trump and to decimate the Republican Party. Both efforts to run simultaneously.

The latter effort is up to us. via the ballot box.

The average man on the street doesn't even know who Mueller is let alone what orange face is doing and anything about his criminal acts. To get 60% you have to let the people know which probably wont start until primary season and then I suspect a lot won't even bother paying attention til we have a nominee. So in a way Pelosi is right to put off impeachment till we have the nations Full attention.

I don't know what Pelosi is thinking. But here are my thoughts: Don't start impeachment hearings, but investigate, investigate, investigate. Subpoena the entire report. Start an investigation on each and every item found. Same with stuff outside of the report. Think Benghazi and Hillary's emails. This is rich ground. Expand to Mitch McConnell and Nunes connections to Russia, there is a LOT there. Let's use the same techniques that were used against the Clintons and Obamas, the endless expensive investigations, except this time there is actually something there, not just a weird pizza conspiracy.
