The CNN poll released today shows impeachment at 41% in support - with only a marginal uptick in support since April.

That is actually the first steps in impeachment.
What is slowing them down is trump and Barr refuse to turn over the information, Barr even said no to a court order to do so.
It was exactly the same with Nixon. and his cover ups were what sank him because they were public, non-deniable behaviors, and the Congress just got to a point where he was dragging them down and they said enough.
It took months to get him out, he even got re-elected while Watergate was going on.
If the Dems want to walk soft in these early stages, it doesn't mean they have stopped digging.
