Woman Charged With Battery For Throwing Milk Shake GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) is the latest politician to be “milkshaked” in what has become an international act of protest.

On Saturday, the congressman was leaving a town hall meeting in Pensacola, Florida, when a woman within a group of demonstrators chucked a drink at him.

Based on footage posted on Twitter of the incident outside the Brew Ha Ha restaurant, it appears Gaetz’s right arm was hit, though it is unclear whether the liquid was indeed a milkshake.

According to ABC affiliate WEAR-TV, police suspect 35-year-old Amanda Leigh Kondrat’yev was the assailant, and she has since been charged with battery.

For the record, I think pieing, milkshaking, drink or dye tossing .. all are poor ideas. 1) it crosses a clear line between speech and physical, which puts things into the category of assault. 2) if a protester is willing to violate that line/barrier, then what comes back across the line (either toward them or other unsuspecting innocents in a crowd) is at least partly their fault. 3) security. put in a very tenuous and impossible situation. can you tell the difference between a mere prank and a serious assault in split seconds? recall, please, that there have been actual assassinations carried out with toxic agents in public places in very recent times.

Boo, hiss and catcall (even scream and curse if you must) .. but keep your milkshakes to yourselves. Please.

Of humanity and civility they have made themselves the target.

Can we bring back flogging, tarring and feathering?
