From the snopes link provided above by book_worm:
The thing about Trump is hes a dime a dozen. Without his father he would have been a used car salesman. But most disappointing, there are millions of people who share his paranoia and his anger and his hatred. Thats what bothers me. It really sounds like the dumbing-down of America to me.
Some of the people I talk to, I get the impression that theres kind of a fuzzy line for them between the Constitution and the Bible. The quotes are intermixed, its very strange. They interviewed some people who didnt know what the three branches of government are.
As I said, this is not another one of those lesser of two evils, weve already been through that. I think we have to stop a man who wants to be the dictator. I think well be in a war within a month if hes in office. It bothers me that people cant read him.
I think the Republicans just think theyll be able to control him, with the House and the Senate, and theyll be able to steer. It is such a bare exposure of the greed and the lust for power. You can see it in Republican Senators and the people who are supporting him, for no other reason than its power.

(1,722 posts)God and Putin, I presume. So Trump's past and present behavior does not matter to them. It may actually be troubling, but they trust that God has a plan. "God acts in mysterious ways." Ha... but not funny.
And for many of them, religious control of government is much more important than democracy. This is a serious problem.
I think the solution is a whole lot of thoughtful and well informed voters... VOTING.

(2,809 posts)A public appeal released by German Christian leaders claimed that the eternal God created for our nation a law that is peculiar to its own kind. It took shape in the Leader Adolf Hitler, and in the National Socialist state created by him. This law speaks to us from the history of our people. . . . It is loyalty to this law which demands of us the battle for honor and freedom . . . One Nation! One God! One Reich! One Church!"
Sort of puts some sickening perspective on MAGAt's inabiility to introspect and learn lessons from the most shameful periods of history.

artificial intelligence now makes it easy, fast and cheaper by an order of magnitude to digitize talk radio, search for, list advertisers, and associate them with content. if the ad industry sees it happening it'll have to start adjusting
boycotts of all RW radio stations and protests at the 88 universities that broadcast sports on 260 limbaugh stations, along with digitizing it to monitor and study it will ensure the ad industry will destroy the rw radio monopoly by finally applying market demand to it instead of propping it up by bundling reluctant clients onto it and pretending limbaugh and sons are just political entertainers being controversial to catch ears. they want those loud radio stations.

(21,745 posts)They run 24 hour hate talk, Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, plus others not as well known. But when the host goes to break, they run music, public interest notices, or even dead air. There is rarely an ad selling services or products.
I believe there is a hidden source of funding for these stations.

(9,090 posts)the lie that they're what america wants to hear. it would be good ammo for straightening this out - i imagine there are investors involved in some of the ownership who even if republican would prefer a a different approach.
small stations can probably survive with a few ads but not the louder ones

(20,670 posts)Where does fear fit into this? Well, fear is a fight or flight response isnt it? It comes directly from the unconscious reptilian brain. Our reptilian brain is programmed to help us to survive in a prehistoric world, and so we are programmed to fear anything that might be associated with a threat to our survival. Thats great but the problem is that this is deeply unconscious within us and the unconscious mind works with symbols and patterns.
The unconscious mind tries to make sense of our world by associating current and perceived future events with past events using symbols. So where it thinks that it recognises a threat to survival, the response is fear and therefore fight or flight. Think now about Christopher Columbus, setting off out into the unknown, his reptilian mind must have been screaming stop!!! but he was able to overcome this.

(11,415 posts)bluster to the lies on FOX NEWS, this constant media attack has been giving the American public a false reality that has taken them to a state where they can accept of a man who is totally unworthy of his position. There must be a scrubbing of media so that the values of truth over fact-less slanted opinion is brought to the forefront. Honest discussions must be the diet of our democracy.
