Reince Priebus Joins the Navy
June 10, 2019 at 8:10 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 43 Comments

“Reince Priebus, President Trump’s former chief of staff, has officially joined the Navy,” the Washington Post reports.

“At a commissioning ceremony Monday morning, Vice President Pence swore in Priebus as an ensign, an entry-level officer. Priebus and his family also met with Trump at the White House after the ceremony.”

I can make out "P-a-r-t-i" and then it's kind of blurred, maybe two or three letters, then a "p" I think, "a-t-i-o-n."

It means you served in the military during a time of conflict. I technically "earned" mine after the first day at Boot Camp.

This was after joining as a seaman, serving for a year, going to Midshipman's School (at Columbia University in NYC) and attending Submarine School. When they married, Mom outranked him since she was a full lieutenant in the Navy Nurse Corp.

At one point Dad was offered a promotion to a lieutenant but because of damage to his hearing while the sub he was on was depth bombed he was disqualified by the medical officer. If he had gotten that promotion, he might have stayed in the Navy after the war. Since he knew his advancement was limited, he went back to Mich Tech and finished his engineering degree.

And another article said "human resources officer." Not a critical career. And his age to be starting at the bottom. It doesn't even look "patriotic," more like dorky. Yaas, he's got *one* medal, National Defense, for volunteering (in wartime), puny when he's standing behind all those admirals with boards of medals.

Commander is just below Captain. Ensign is WAY below Captain (or Commander). SPICER is a Public Affairs Officer, at least related to something.

...pediatricians assigned to our very small pediatric clinic had been in private practice for many years in NYC. Rumor had it that he joined the military to escape a potential law suit. He was brought in as a lieutenant colonel. He was one of the shittiest doctors I have ever worked with, and an awful human being to boot. He was rewarded by being promoted to full colonel.

One time, when I was getting ready to go on a 5 city tour to Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong and 2 forgettable places in Malaysia, he tried to talk me into taking possession of a Buddha statuette that he had arranged to get smuggled out of Burma. I was horrified that he would even ask me to do such a thing, let alone think I would agree. I declined in no uncertain terms.

He was a real prick. Had some characteristics in common with Trump - self-centered, self-congratulatory, phony bastard.

He was the one in charge of writing my Officer Efficiency Report.

This whole thing with Priebus seems very odd.
