Raptors like this don't think of their beak as a weapon (the guy was worried about getting bitten), but as a tool to tear prey apart. The thing to watch out for is the talons. The safest way to support these guys, should you ever have to do it, is to hold the legs in one hand with a couple fingers in between the legs so you have a good grip. Of course, even touching a raptor is a violation of federal law, but sometimes it's got to be done!

It was wonderful seeing it standing still, trying to get its breath, and trusting the people to not harm it.

It looked as if it was feeling strong as it flew away.

That one unexpectedly brought tears.

Those hawks are really big in person! He was a whopper!
