Rob Reiner tweet; Everything we've always known about Donald Trump has been in plain sight.

Rob Reiner ✔ @robreiner
Everything we’ve always known about Donald Trump has been in plain sight. He’s a racist, a misogynist, a pathological liar, a malignant narcissist & a lifetime criminal. Now we know he’s a traitor to his country. How in God’s name can he still be President? #ImpeachTrumpNow

I left Christianity decades ago. Most of my immediate family are still Bible thumpers.

But I also kind of like how the phrase sounds too. Hard to give it up. So I use the word "gawd" in that context. Its a meaningless word that sounds the same.

on tv. Dems don’t have the media infrastructure to counteract massive rw propaganda. GOP spent years if not decades building the media around the country with corporate support and they gained millions upon millions of followers.

over DNC. (Not that he's not a great candidate now) I remember thinking at that point how we didn't need establishment...we needed new modern ideas.

Plus we have no clear voiced leader now. Hopefully we will pick a very passionate and savvy candidate - sooner the better.

and helping him stay there. The few who would toss him out on his ass today are out numbered. We keep reaching new levels to which he stoops and yet nothing happens. It’s just another day in Washington. We have been assaulted so much by this thug that many have grown numb. With inaction by Congress, they have retreated. Having done all they know to do (register their feelings with their Congressman, donated to impeachment funds) they are trying to preserve their sanity by pulling back their engagement on the issue. Unless and until Congress quits dithering and actually DOES SOMETHING, we will continue to sink lower and lower. Sad but true.

Who like tRump and would vote for him again. Hell, they’d even appoint him for life given the chance. The only life term I want to see him get is in prison for his crimes. And while we’re at it, let’s see to it that his crime syndicate (family) gets locked up, too.

Until, some of the tRump fans wake up and find out they've Been duped by a con man, the con will continue. Recent polling (the ones tRump says are fake) show some signs that the spell may be lifting. Oh, what a happy day it will be when their blinders come off!

to see him for what he is, will never wise up. Remember his followers, those middle aged idiots wearing tee shirts saying "I'd rather be Russian than Democrat"? tRump is stark raving mad, or else he has dementia. He is not an intelligent man. Right now, he is living totally free, along with his entire family. The trip to the UK must have cost a few million. The "boys" went on a pub crawl in Ireland, yet had no money on them. Then they ordered drinks for everyone in the last bar and left the owner to eat the bill. Low class, crude, uneducated buffoons. Just like daddy. Russia or China will not have to nuke" us, they put the orange asshole in the WH, and he is destroying everything for them!! We will be bankrupt at the rate his out of control cabinet is screwing things up.

But I know there were some misguided souls who just jumped on his train believing all the BS about him being a rich business man and figured they’d give him a shot. I never could figure out how they overlooked his mocking the disabled reporter or the Access Hollywood tape but I guess their hatred of Hillary was a powerful force that allowed them to ignore all the warning flags about trump.

Some of the farmers and other workers (coal miners) might start to change their minds as they get bitten on the ass by the charlatan they believed. His snake oil has turned out to be a snake bite. I feel sorry for them on the one hand but I kind of think they got what was coming to them for being so hateful and bigoted. Anyway, let’s hope some of them are finally seeing the light.

I’m not so naive as to think he won’t double down on his tactics. So who knows where we will be in 2020? The historians will not run out of material writing about this era.

kept telling me that racism was a thing of the past. But I knew it was just there, right on the edge, waiting for someone to step up and call it out. Black Lives Matter exposed the ugly truth, and Trump opened up the gates for 40% of the American population to finally come out to show us who they really are. Trump is president because of this 40%.

This phenomenon that even die hard traditional "family values" Republicans seemed to just fall into having no trouble at all accepting locker room talk from their President, and all his other bad behavours.

That we are the opposite. We fire anyone that dares to say a bad word. Almost immediatley out of the gate, Obama fires Van Jones for having the audacity to call Republicans "assholes"......because they acted like assholes by saying they'd make Obama a one term President. And it went on from there...to forcing out one of their strongest most popular Senators for making a crude pantomime years ago as a comic, and touching someones waist.

We risk making a joke out of our knee jerk reactions to anything that might be percieved in the smallest way by the most minority of special interests. The party greatly misread the country in general, and their appetite for forgiveness for crudeness or being impolite. And it has backfired. That "when they go low, we go high", sounded good in theory, but in real life, contemporary society post-social media, they realize, too late again, that the age of being nice and punishing your own party members for not being polite, is over. At least I hope so

They are racist, misogynistic liars who, time and time again, have cheated to win elections to stay in power against the will of the people. And if that weren't true, more republicans than just Amash would have spoken up long ago.

I don't know, you'd think it would be easier to organize in this digital age we live in, but apathy seems to have expanded along with technology or something.

Anyway, I'm beginning to feel that the only way is massive public demonstrations (and I mean massive, as in 10s of millions of people in coordinated actions), but everyone is so scattered and insular and caught up in just trying to survive...I don't see it happening. Maybe in 2022 after the Republicans steal the election again or something, and once we're well into this next Gulf War that appears to be in the plans of the goddamn PNAC crew who have somehow gotten back into cabinet-level roles.

Anyway, as I said to myself as I sat in shock and horror on the evening of 11/9/16, at the end of the day, all politics are local. We need to organize locally. If not in overtly political organizations, at least in keeping up an effective resistance. It's not that we "can do nothing" so much as we seem to lack the will to really organize and take on things at the local level where we do indeed have considerable political power, if we would just organize more effectively.

but 4/10 isn't the only problem.

trump has actually succeeded at giving TRILLIONS to the wealthy.

So while the votes did install him (suckers), it was with the complicity of the greedy media, the greedy rich republicans, corporations, AND the voters. Who *continue* to embolden and benefit from him - and aren't done with him yet.

Not to mention quite a few dems that voted for the bill..... refuse to fight, etc.
