If either one of them came before the American people and spilled their guts, they would go down in history as true patriotic heroes.
Of course, they wont because of Republican ties, fears of retribution, etc. etc.
And when they dont, the American people will never truly heal no matter what happens in the 2020 election.
Its truly a shame that we dont have a John Dean Watergate type patriot somewhere in all of Trump world.

(115,681 posts)He's in exactly the same position as Dean was. Does he want to go down in history as just another Trump toady or as a hero like Dean? Now that Trump has started publicly dissing him, maybe his loyalty will start to crumble like Michael Cohen's did.

He went to jail, too, and then rebuilt his life. There are no more brave republicans left.

(2,227 posts)I am especially disgusted by Mueller.
As soon as he saw Barr lie about the report, then toss it in the trash, the very next morning he should have shown up at Congress with 435 copies of the full report, with supporting documentation.
But apparently Mueller is just another delicate, fragile flower/snow flake, afraid of a "spectacle", that doesn't have the patriotism required to complete the job he was given.
His job was protecting and defending this country from our enemies, both within and without, through adhering to legitimate legal means. Not indicting because of someone's written SUGGESTION, based on NO written legislation, given the mountain of evidence, was the coward's way out.
Sad.
He may not want to be part of a spectacle. But he is going to carry this albatross around his neck for the rest of his life. A "spectacle" will have been child's play... He may rue the day...
