in Vancouver, WA. It was relatively small--maybe 100 people altogether--but it was held in the same place and time as the weekly Farmers' Market, so a lot of people at least got to hear us. LOL I'd say at least 40% of the crowd consisted of old Sixties Counterculturalists like me. I imagine the one being held across the river in Portland was bigger and younger.
I took photos, but for some reason my ancient iPhone will not send to my email. I'll keep fiddling with it....

(1,480 posts)for the Occupy Wall Street movement, I'm surprised and disappointed to hear this. Maybe they were afraid of more police brutality, as happened during Occupy. The Portland police are not exactly known for their liberal views....

Thanks for the report, Trev. You guys made your point to those around and it's right to care. This is real.

(21,110 posts)Plus in the hot summer people dont get out. If they have another in September/October and really advertise it there will be bigger numbers. I am out of town but would have attended the rally where I live.

(1,480 posts)although the weather was perfect--66 deg and clear--and the Farmers' Market was packed.
But yes, it was rather short notice. I saw a reporter and a photographer from the Columbian there, so it'll make a little news.
