Ottawa mayor tells Raptors to 'forget the White House' and visit Trudeau instead after victory

https://thehill.com/policy/international/448738-ottawa-mayor-tells-raptors-to-forget-the-white-house-and-visit-trudeau

Jim Watson, the mayor of Ottawa, Canada, urged the Toronto Raptors to visit the Canadian Parliament instead of the White House after the team won the NBA Finals this week.

Watson called on Prime Minister Trudeau to invite the team to the country’s Parliament in an online post on Friday.

“Forget the White House for a victory lap. Come to Ottawa and Parliament Hill so Canada can congratulate you,” Watson wrote.

But even with that, the team is Canadian and those players listen to the Canadian national anthem at every home game, so all the celebration should be Canadian.

one from Congo (Ibaka), one from Spain (Gasol), one from Canada (Boucher), the Raptors President from Nigeria (Ujiri), the owners all Canadian, and the rest from the U.S.
An international team, one could say! Oh and they listen to O Canada at every game they play, not just at home.

I knew about Pascal and the GM, either ignored the others or didn't pay attention to start.

Remember last year IQ45 disinvited the Warriors AFTER they turned down the invitation. He can't risk that happening again with another NBA team and his excuse this time will be that the Raptors are a "foreign" team.
