What are the odds that the Democrats will keep control of the House?

Last edited Mon Jun 17, 2019, 08:23 AM - Edit history (1)

Some people believe that if we keep the status quo, more or less, then we will be able to keep a Democratic majority in the House.

But, if some raise too much of a stink, like inquiring about whether impeachable crimes have been committed or not, then that may threaten the present House majority?

Still others may believe that even if there is an impeachment inquiry, or impeachment proceeding, the Democrats will still maintain control of the House.

They do not believe that Republicans are going to be so pissed off that they are going to go to the polls to defeat the Democrats. The Democrats will maintain control of the House regardless.

That is why they believe the impeachment process should be started now. If it is not finished by Election Day, and Donald Trump wins the election, then the impeachment process will continue into the next election, if we are so unfortunate to be in such a situation?

...it's "if they distract themselves from dealing with the pocketbook issues they were elected to deal with" AND " allow Trump to claim he's been 'acquitted' when the Senate fails to convict him".

Been saying he’s been acquitted/not guilty already. The bills can pile up, every pocketbook issue in the world, but senate won’t take up. So, you are basically just amassing things you would have liked to do..if only...

He will say the Democrats never had anything on him or else, they would have impeached. And Congress can pass laws all day long, but they go no where if the Senate throws them in the trash.

Appropriations bills originate in the House. Trump can't pay for any of the shit he wants to do unless it passes the House.

We can control the bleeding, if nothing else.

Impeach and hold him to justice. We can’t achieve any meaningful legislation with senate blocking. He’s got his blocker with Barr.

So, we are left with two things other than what you say..Hope we can boot him out despite Trussian interference. And, hope that a court rules against trump on farmed out Mueller cases.

with about the same number versus the Republicans. But, if we were to impeach Trump, I do think it would add extra uncertainty as to the outcome of 2020 elections. I think that’s part of Pelosi’s seeming reluctance to impeach.

And no, I’m not saying Democrats would lose the House if they impeach.

for the same reason MF45 won't be removed upon impeachment -the FUCKING SENATE LEADER, Moscow Mitch.

The House can pass great bills, and McChinless will kill them all, and republicons will run on a "do-nothing" congress. We know why, but they will lie.

And I'm sick of hearing that we can't let MF45 say that the Senate "cleared" him. How the hell is that worse that letting him say he's so innocent the Dems "didn't even try". "They had nothing on me".

Bring the inquiries, the hearings, the evidence. Then let the public see that corrupt SENATE republicons let him off the hook.

The House can do that, and continue to pass worthwhile legislation. Let the public see them do their jobs, and see republicon obstruction.

The "blue wave" was a direct reaction to the outrages committed by MF45. Those seats are at risk only if the democrats fail to do what they were elected to do - be a check on MF45.

No, it wasn't. The blue wave was because we ran campaigns based on issues, primarily focusing on things like healthcare, and not "all Trump, all the time."

If we let 2020 be defined by Trump and focus primarily there, we will lose.

...except for the short time the nation took for the funeral of Senator John McCain, and possibly for a couple of other short time periods.

But, over-all, it is almost like complete domination of the news media.

I guess it is because of people (like us) ?
