(6,709 posts)Our default position should be to doubt ANYTHING this government tells us. Especially when they clearly WANT a war with Iran (or anybody, really--Venezuela anyone?)

(16,065 posts)The evidence presented after the Gulf of Tonkin was strong too...and this evidence is likely just as much of a lie as that was!
Both the military and the intelligence agencies at the time were in on that as well...

First it was an Iranian mine that hit the ship, and the proof was the grainy photo which purports (with no proof) to be evidence of Iranian ships removing unexploded mines from the Gulf. Then the people on the ship that got injured told the truth that it wasn't a mine but a drone that bombed them. There were also reports from that same day of Iran shooting down American armed drones. So, it really looks to me like drumpf/Bolton made this false flag play which was ruined by their total stupidity. Too bad Schiff doesn't have better sources than just the self-serving rw lies of drumpf/Pompeo/Bolton.
