I learned something interestng about trump today

And I think it actually makes sense...

Using the "tell the FBI" issue as an example...

His response to that question has changed several times, including what he said to G.P. during various parts of the interview..

He wouldn't tell the FBI
or
He "might tell the FBI
Or
maybe he would, maybe he wouldn't
or
he'd have to see the information before deciding maybe to tell the FBI
or
No point in telling the FBI, they are incompetent
or
It didn't matter because any information is "oppo research" ( we all know someone gave him that phrase in between interview settings)

He does this a lot..different versions of something he sez...

because he is "reading the room", so he gives one answer to a question or makes a statement, if it gets blow back he changes the statement a bit, tests the water again, then again if necessary.

Note that he hasn't strayed from the main issue of "telling the FBI", he has just changed his answer several times, and seems to be sticking...now...to "oppo research".

I've been shoving a lot of reading on the web into my brain and now cannot recall where I got the "reading the room" idea, but it seems to fit.

Dunno...whadda think?

3. Absolutely - he does this with his "cutesy' nicknames. He tests them out for impact.

We had Sleepy Joe, then we had Sleasy Joe, somewhere we had some other kind of Joe (Swampy maybe). He's looking at his it sticks. Social media gurus would call this A/B testing where they send out two messages about the same thing and see which one gets more likes or retweets. That becomes the lead and then they test it against another...they can do this daily until one "wins" for enough days that it starts going viral.

That's what he's doing with the FBI game...each one of those messages will get tweeted into his feed by someone and they'll look at which phrase gets retweeted the most. That's where he'll land for his base.

What an asshat. Turning the Oval Office into some marketing 101 game.

He's a master at hoodwinking and bamboozling people. It's a real gift, and it comes naturally to him.

His mind is gone, probably from his cocaine/speed fueled nightclub days. Those days are catching up to him. He cannot remember what he said from one moment to the next and that, coupled with his lazy inability to think critically and his penchant for lying about all things big and small, results in his idiotic, all-over-the-place rambling.

The thing is, the silver-spooned bully has never had to be accountable for anything. He's always been the boss so whatever he says is right whenever he spittles it out, despite being contrary to what he may have just said. When it turns out okay, he takes the credit, when it doesn't it is somebody else's nightmare. It has just never mattered before now.

He's in the spotlight now and expected to have at least some skills. Those skills aren't there. There are no tools in the toolbox. In fact, he's never even needed a toolbox but now he does and all he has is a moldering lump of plumbers putty bound by a few strips of duct tape and baling wire.

No, that rotting loofah he might call "the best brain" can only ponder one thing and that is himself, while day by day he gets ever more dangerous.

News this isn't.

Redacted claimed during his campaign that it would be a a crooked election.
He told us he has no respect for women.
He told us if elected he'd milk the taxpayers for everything he could get.
He told us he'd do everything in his power to subvert the press.

In all of the above issues he put it out there then walked it back, then he claimed all reports of him saying any of it was fake news and Democrats were out to get him. "Alternate facts".

The same with this "tell the FBI" thing. His first gut is to admit he's eyeball deep in collusion and subverting the integrity of American elections. Then he walks it back. Give it another week and he'll be saying the Democrats are the ones who said it, not him.

Decades ago I remember the excitement when he declared bankruptcy the first time and stuck it to the taxpayers while walking off with millions. The banker dudes said they were caught by surprise, the man was worth Billions, Forbes said so. When confronted Redacted claimed he never said he was worth Billions... that he can't be held responsible for Forbes bad reporting. Put it out there, walk it back, blame someone else when the lie is exposed.

He isn't crazy. He isn't stupid. He's a predator. That's what they do.

until that's what people take away. He would tell the FBI. He said so, several times actually.

Leaders and scoundrels have known for many centuries, almost certainly millennia, that if you tell a lie often enough people will believe it. He's been honing his one big talent to con people all his adult life, and this looks like it's probably a refinement of technique based on new understanding of how the brain works.

stuck in the reality show and he's constantly scripting. That was evident when he stopped the interview and kicked Mulvaney out of the room for coughing and wanted to have a second "take." With the start of his 2020 campaign, we're in seriously dangerous territory. He needs ratings and he needs to show the cult what a big tough guy he is. They just announced a "roundup of illegal aliens." Next week it could be war with Iraq. It's going to get much worse really fast.

defend him and continue supporting his disastrous policies is beyond me. Anyone with any dignity and self-respect would resign after that humiliation. But, he'll probably be out there next Sunday lying for him as usual. I don't understand the effect Trump has on people, it's like he traps them in his distortion field and they can't escape.
