There's just been so much insanity & general scumminess around Trump & his allies that it seems like no matter what comes out about him, it doesn't shock people anymore. We don't have a baseline for normal behavior in our leaders at this point.

Then there's the fact that women's accusations are taken less seriously in general, particularly by the kind of nuts that make up Trump's base. They hate women, & either automatically dismiss rape allegations or just honestly don't care whether it's true or not.

Trump has built a narrative of the media trying to destroy him, which rational people, or anyone with half a brain knows is a bunch of crap. The media is just reporting Trump's own words and actions. He just does stupid horrible things. However, because news is entertainment and entertainment is a commodity that requires access, they want to retain access to him because he brings in ratings, so they run from these stories.
