TRUMP'S "OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE"
Here Are All the Ways Trump May Have Obstructed Justice
BY MAHITA GAJANAN , KATIE REILLY , RYAN TEAGUE BECKWITH AND GINA MARTINEZ Trump asked FBI Director James Comey for loyalty Trump asked Comey to drop an investigation into Michael Flynn Trump fired Comey "Why it matters: Since 1968, FBI directors have been appointed to 10-year terms in order to preserve their independence from political pressure." Trump misrepresented why he fired Comey Trump asked intelligence officials to clear him Trump tried to limit the Russia investigation "Why it matters: Again, the president is not supposed to intervene with the Department of Justice on specific investigations, much less one that involves him." Trump asked Sessions to un-recuse himself from the Russia investigation Trump tried to fire Sessions Trump dictated a misleading statement on the Trump Tower meeting Trump tried to fire Mueller Trump threatened his former lawyer Michael Cohen "Why it matters: Trump was essentially threatening a witness in a federal investigation into him, in part by suggesting that his family could face criminal investigations of its own." https://time.com/5573521/donald-trump-obstruction-justice/

1. Every bit of that was done right in front of us and was known long before Mueller's
report.
Yet, it hasn't been enough to get 60% or so of electorate to back Impeachment, enough Democrats in House to back Impeachment, and nowhere near the number needed in Senate to remove trump. Obstruction was never going to be enough to take trump down. It should have been, but it hasn't worked that way. There are plenty of other things that might make a good Impeachment effort -- incompetence in office, failed foreign relations, nepotism, reneging on agreements, encouraging racism and bigotry, emoluments, abuse of executive power, and more -- but Obstruction just isn't going to be enough. |

2. With some of his dealings, Treason might be a possible legal remedy.
'Putin's poodle': newspapers declare Trump a traitor after Helsinki summit
From Trump’s ‘treason’ in the New York Daily News to a ‘nod and a wink’ in the Daily Express, most saw the summit as a triumph for Putin. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/jul/17/putins-poodle-newspapers-declare-trump-a-traitor-after-helsinki-summit |
