Federal appropriations law prohibits using the government’s money for purposes Congress has not authorized. Also, section 501 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2018 (and the pending bill for a Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2019) specifically prohibits the use of federal funds for unauthorized “publicity or propaganda.” The Government Accountability Office, which issues guidance on the use of appropriated funds, has said political activity can run afoul of these prohibitions. The Justice Department, too, has held that “If . . . there is no reasonable connection between the expense incurred and the official purposes to be served by an appropriation—as, generally speaking, there would not be when an expense is incurred purely for partisan political purposes—official funds may not be used to pay the expense.”

Unlike Kellyane and the rest of his staff, who are restricted from making campaigning comments while on the job.

He can't use Federal FUNDS to turn it into a political rally. That is where HATCH comes in and the actual statute I cited.

WILL HE? No doubt. But he will be subject to violations of those specific statutes. YES, I know.. Don't whine at me as to how he'll get by with it. But it will be violations nonetheless and CREW will file. Ultimately Congress can use this as well against him.

Not unlike his total disregard for the emoluments clause of the constitution, which is before the courts right now.

That the majority of the crowd is there to protest.
If that were to develop, I’m sure his participation would be cancelled for some reason.

The normal fireworks, etc is still going on but I don't know what the time is, etc. If real Americans went to the real parade his BS Parade will be as popular as his Inauguration. Too bad there isn't a Women's March in DC that day.

I fell badly for those who may have traveled to DC, planning the trip months or years previous. As for me, I won't expose myself to any media that covers him on that day.

Damn! Good thing I don't have to boycott that...one of my favorite holidays and celebrations. I will be on the opposite coast wishing evil thoughts like I wish HE were on one of those firework rockets and was blown into space permanently. Of course he is such a big fat dud he would likely be one of theose fireworks that fizzles out before it can get off the ground very far.

They don't normally air July fourth celebrations. That would make him so mad yo plan this big parade and no one sees it.

Unfortunately, no storms predicted for the 4th in DC, but it will be hot and humid. Maybe he'll stroke out from the heat. That would give Independence Day a new meaning.
