OK, this is a must see

Last edited Wed Jun 26, 2019, 12:39 AM - Edit history (1)

A scathing "social satire", except I am not seeing as much satire as I see reality of now.

A new tv show, Years and Years, with Emma Thompson as a Trump like Prime minister, who gets into office after all the problems we have seen since 2008 have occurred.

In episode 6, of 6 episodes,

she is talking to a roomful of potential contractors about building sites for concentration camps, using the exact language that is being used NOW to tidy up the ldea of what they are doing.
PLUS

what happens when you get people in them that you cannot ever let go of ( Like Guantanamo.).

BBC One/HBO..mebbe some peeks are available on Youtube.

My jaw is dropped because of the exact situations to now that is in a series that had to be written before Trump's concentration camps hit the news last week, and they went past what we see now to imagine the ultimate future of where this could lead.

Thompson, as the female trump like...talks about

the population that we need to put into these camps will never go away, never, because I can see the vast migration of people stretching out thru the years.
So how do you deal with these camps that keep filling up and never empty.
The "growing population of the camps" problem can take care of itself, however, as Kitchner did in the Boer War.
they simply let nature take its course. The camps were crowded, rife with disease and pestilence, which, tho regrettable, was "fitting, because a natural selection took place. You might call it neglect, you might call it efficient"

All this said with a happy smile at the solution to a vexing problem, as the soon to be contractors chuckled in appreciation.

So, all the overcrowding of esp. the adults, the bad food, the lack of sunshine, exercise, showers and soap and toothbrushes, and lack of enough beds, so kids have to sleep on cold concrete floors...and now disease outbreaks, no doctors available....
this is not a "problem" in the system trump and his fellow fascists have designed. it's a feature. A KNOWN feature.

And it's working. Border patrol has gone from zero deaths during Obama's immigrant handling, to ,,24, I think was the last count. Yesterday a news report that 4 infants ere rushed to hospital with extemely severe medical problems, one died, I have not heard of the other 3 outcomes.

We cannot stop saying NO until the immigrants get safe healthy living conditions. We simply cannot.

Now that i have re-read them, it was a toddler who died, and 4 babies who were only taken to hospital AFTER one opf the lawyers FORCED BP to take them.

. One 2-year-old’s eyes were rolled back in her head, and she was “completely unresponsive” and limp, according to Toby Gialluca, a Florida-based attorney.
The lawyers feared that if they had not shown up at the facility, the sick kids would have received zero medical attention and potentially died.

And has been for a very long time.

Throwing money at the facilities on our border is actually unlikely to be any sort of long-term solution (though admittedly seems necessary in the short-term). I'd rather see the money go to foreign assistance in the countries where the refugees are coming from quite honestly.

But of course shitbird doesn't want to do that either.

Attack the problem at the source. I don’t believe any people really want to uproot their families and leave their homes in a country they know, to take a dangerous journey here, but the conditions are simply not tolerable for them and they see it as having no other choice.

I've been there. It's beautiful and ripe with opportunity. Yet the people are
fleeing. Why? Gangs, crime and US interference going back to John Foster Dulles
and the United Fruit Company. Trump pulling aid to these countries only exacerbates
the problem.
Racism and the fear by R's that these folks might vote Democratic fuels this
catastrophe. In typical Trump style, he creates a problem and then proceeds to "solve"
it for his base. His "presidency" has made the whole world ill.
It's breaking the heart of the world.

HOW CAN THIS BE MY COUNTRY???

YET IT IS

I HOPE EVERYONE PAYING ATTENTION IS BECOMING WHAT IS KNOWN THROUGHOUT HISTORY AS RADICALIZED.

Change the system NOW.

Stay nonviolent and we win. The pen and principled, nonviolent protest is mightier than the sword.

(I feel like we have become South Africa under Apartheid.)
