Two GOP Senators Call For Trump To Be Investigated For Latest Rape Allegation

In news likely to get under Donald Trump’s thin skin, two Republican senators have come forward to say that the recent rape allegation against the president should be investigated.

As CNN reported, “Two Republican senators said Tuesday the rape allegation made against President Donald Trump by writer E. Jean Carroll should be explored to determine the veracity of the allegation against the President — even as many Senate Republicans sidestepped questions over the matter and defended Trump.”

The two senators that stepped forward are Mitt Romney of Utah and Joni Ernst of Iowa.

“It’s a very serious allegation,” Romney said, according to CNN. “I hope that it is fully evaluated. The President said it didn’t happen and I certainly hope that’s the case.”

Surprisingly, Sen. Ernst said that not only does E. Jean Carroll need to be interviewed by investigators, but Trump does as well.

“I think anybody that makes an accusation like that, they should come forward,” the Iowa senator said. “But obviously there has to be some additional information. They need to interview her. They need to visit with him.”

Always had the impression that Mitt felt Gawd had chosen him to be the first Mormon president - and his window to do that is closing.

Plus I think he would like to settle a score with a certain president who made Mitt kiss his butt.......

Concerned that two other GOP senators came forward and voiced concern before she had bothered to be concerned to begin with.

She was so dynamic about Al Franken, why is it that we are no hearing anything from her on this one, and actually, on the other accusers as well?

I hope she gets asked that on Thursday.

"why is it that we are no hearing anything from her on this one..."

Because you're not listening would be my guess, as she's already made a full statement. But not on twitter containing less than 40 characters-- that may be the reason you're unaware of it.

Isn't the statute of limitations on rape expired by this point?

Simply proving that he raped her would accomplish nothing, other than sunlighting her awful attack. His shovel-brained followers will never give him up. They probably love it when shit like this happens.

there is no SOL for rape. Lesser sexual assaults do have SOLs. But without researching the state in question, I would be surprised if the SOL has tolled.

Her future in the Senate looks bleak. She has done NOTHING but rubber stamp and stand in line behind turtlehead and the cowardly con artist. Now she faces a challenger, and her skills at castrating pigs may not be enough to win her a second term. So yup...she's coming out "for women". Bull shit.

Such a party of collective cowards. Romney possibly has some shred of moral backbone, but this wench is far from anything resembling moral character.
